Ok. I guess we're just going to have to live with no extra ability icons then.
Yet, that's not logical, since Rampage is an added icon. Mok implemented it, and I did the design. so you can add new icons.
i'm sure you're close to it.

and as I sais in the mail, I tried your new patch with the new abilities bmp and it still worked fine.

Thank you for the bmp and the redo-patch, I've thought that i have to reinstall the whole thing. Crashes stopped. All is ok with this new patch. :D

Mok had the source code, so he could do neat things like change array sizes (and break 2000 card limits, if he wanted)). Unfortunately we do not have that luxury anymore.

So, now this patch is to be considered "stable" ?
----
- Current / medium term task: adjusting the code for making Misdirection and such usable
- Long term task: inserting all the good stuff I left out from the "Golden Years" mod

So far I was using only latest multiplayer update. But, as I would like to see latest changes, I've downloaded this singleplayer update for 1st time.

Stupid question: how do I run Shandalar part of this game after update? I do not see such option on this new in-game menu.

things have gotten complex for shandalar. it's has become very buggy with the lattest updates. so I would suggest you instal the game with an old construct in another folder than the curent magic one and play shandalar with this old installation. I'l afraid for the moment it is the only way.

So nice! You've also fixed the next-draw card image! :)
Mathy, my best compliments for the new backgrounds: the one with the map behind is really an eyecandy and greatly fits the game.

Just to know, I've also seen that you've released many little fixes in this same thread: do I have to download them again or are they already included in the main pack?
I've downloaded it right now.

When you run patch.exe how is the program deciding where to patch? I have several copies installed in different directories as I try to wrap my head around all the stuff here and get things right :)

As it stands I ran the win7 compilation and I've tried patching with everything I can find. So far i've managed to gain a few new cards. Many cards I see listed (if not most) in your updated cards list are not available to me. And I know a few cards definately have the wrong artwork.

I know this isn't anything anyone here has done.. I'm just new to this and trying to get things working. Any help is mucho el apreciado.

to run the patch it has to be in the same folder (with its txt file) as the exe, you want to patch that's how it finfs its way. if you patched from outsode the folder you have done nothing.
also for the cards you have to copy the Cards.DAT in the magic directory as well, that maybe why some cards are missing.

regarding the artwork there is link for them in the " new users start here section"

Yeah, I finally figured it out. You have to Patch, then copy the contents of the folder over to C:/magic.

Finally, everything is working like a charm! Lovin it. I'm an original magic guy and its a lot of fun to see how the game has evolved with new cards etc.. whole new game

Ops! It looks like I've missed some card art release: in my version, cards as Steppe Linx or the new dual lands as Glacial Fortress look empty, with no art.
Where may I find them?

Also, I have a question: let's say that I want to copy my custom version from my notebook to my desktop PC. Which folder do I have to copy?
Thanx a lot!!

They're on the board somewhere. My version has those two examples you used. There are a few others I don't have, though, like Lavalanche, and some that are wrong, like Celestial Colonnade looks like Castle, and Punishing Fire looks like Hurr Jackal.
