Thanks to help from mathusalem and WAY too much free time on my hands, I have been able to crack some manalink mysteries that have been eluding me for a while. What this means to you as that more art was modded.

Code: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5jwzhzyfuum/20100222.zip
Art: http://www.mediafire.com/file/nzgzzjzuh ... rd_art.zip

To apply these changes to your custom version, run patch.exe, and choose the custom version. I have already patched the limited version.

Changes include:
-new start of duel and end of duel pictures
-new attack box background

Another non-art thing I updated was cards that play spells for free, such as Bloodbraid Elf. Those spells actually go on the stack now, and can be countered, etc. Let me know there are bugs there.

Other bug fixes include:
-Make Metalworker a 1/2 (not 1/3)
-Fix text for Jareth and Birthlore Rangers
-Have Journey to Nowhere, O Ring, and Packmaster say what they exiled
-Fix Oran-Rief bug where is makes counters and produces mana
-Fix interaction with deathtouch and indestrictible
-Fix interaction with deathtouch and lifelink (at least for nighthawk)

silly yahoo box
I couldn't send one last bug report.
I couldn't save because this occured right at the end of my turn : a mesa enchantress was sent to the graveyard for no reason at all.
the turn after that the AI lost a civic wayfarer in the same fashion.

game ended in a crash

Just a heads up for anyone else who may be trying to use this program for Multiplayer, like me: This update makes it completely inoperable. At least, it did for two separate installations on two different PCs for me.

After applying the patches attempting to play any matches against a registered opponent causes both players to receive separate coin flips, and their opponent will lose the game due to running out of cards on their first turn.

I know this won't bother most people, but thought it should be mentioned.

My game crashed 4 times in 6 runs. I couldn't reproduce these crashes via autosave.

actually the multiplayer has been innoperable for ages. have you tried to play against the AI ? have you experienced crashes against the AI with this patch ?

Yes. I've played versus AI with random decks.

Up until the updates around Valentine's day, my partner and I could play MP with almost 100% success. How long has it supposedly been unusable? Perhaps we were just extremely lucky, because I'd say we could play 9/10 matches all the way through with no crashes or errors, and this is using the Xmas and New Year's updates as well. :?:

I was aware that MP wasn't officially supported due to various issues...but it still worked near flawlessly for us until about a week ago. Now it just bugs out immediately. I knew I shouldn't have pushed my luck. #-o

I've reproduced one of the crashes. In this savegame play Arid Mesa, then activate it, then play Knight of the White Orchid.

Another bug that i couldn't reproduce: When I casted Dauthi Warlord a Fearie Rogue token disappeared from the battlefield.

New bug : Vampire Nocturnus turns into a swamp at the beginning of the turn....then turns back to itself.

at some point I saw several oddities : a swamp suddenly gained the swampwalk symbol, a Llanowar Elves had his power reduced to zero when it was tapped for mana.

Jatill: Does the "non-card art" patch include previous "non-card art" files or are they cumulative? Because I already have a folder with that name...

Great job, just downloading right now.

there are a few changes (two images that were previously interverted, the abilities symbols, and a new start duel image that will make you travel through time and space), so yes it's better to put load this art.

and we need you to test it

Hmm, just got a bug I was able to reproduce while testing. Apparently saccing Academy Rector for Cabal Therapy then looking for an enchantment crashes the game.

Play and break a Windswept Heath for a Bayou, play Cabal Therapy naming Aspect of the Wolf, attempt to flash it back saccing Academy Rector, look for Recurring Nightmare.

Edit: Wow, this deck sure is problematic. Angel of Despair targetting Petrified Field closes the game with no error message.

Edit2: And another one. Blow Pernicious Deed for 4 with two Royal Assassin and Academy Rector in play. Couldn't reproduce this one, tho'.

This is driving me nuts.

Academy rector is buggy from its initial release along with Pattern of Rebirth (random crashes when saccing)

Yeah I wouldn't use Rector or Pattern
