Firstly, I want to offer my sincere thanks to drool66 and Aswan Jaguar for not only keeping this project alive but truly resuscitating it by adding newer sets. Since what happened with Korath, I became depressed thinking that that was it. So, thank you once again, for ending my misery and putting a smile on my face

My depression hit rock bottom when I completely forgot my username, email and password to this forum so there was no way to recover it. My only solution was to register again so, hopefully, it will be the last time it happens (plus I wrote the details down just in case amnesia hits).

I used to report some bugs under Aswan jaguar's watchful eye so I will resume my contributions as and when I can.

To this day, I do not understand why Wizards of the Coast does not pick this project up and pays the developers. In my humble opinion, it is still the best MTG game out there!!

As Aswan jaguar mentioned MEGA, I too would like to offer some (positive) feedback. I have never heard about it before and did not find the process of downloading exactly straightforward but once I managed to find out by trial and clicking... I actually like it! I installed the MEGA desktop app which downloads the folders and files super duper quick and without the need to zip them. Also, as I can direct to whatever folder path I want, all game files magically sync.

I did try to use the torrent but after a few hours of trying I still could not pick up any seeders.

I just downloaded the base install off Mega with no problem, except for Cards.dat(not Cards1.dat) failing due to invalid key / decryption error.

All attempts I have made to get the file have failed in exactly the same way. (screenshot included as attachment)

Everything downloaded in between 5 and 10 minutes by the way(the jaguar just has a sucky, throttling ISP that hates MEGA ;P ), ignoring the above mentioned Cards.dat file.


P.S. Got interested in this because of ProJared playing the 2016 patch(I think...?) and wanted to try the game for myself.
Edit: still kind of clueless how to get everything installed properly so that I can just double click and play the game pain free since there isn't a clean cut, well documented process to refer to yet.

I'm sorry you're having this problem.
The most recent patch is the top thread here.
There you can download from the Mediafire files; if this is indeed the only file you are missing, you should be able to install the "update" file over the files you have already downloaded from MEGA. Again: put the files you have already downloaded into an install folder (eg. C:\Manalink) and then unzip the update file from the link above into the same folder. The update file includes Cards.dat, but you will need the rest of the files in that zip also.
You will also want to download the artwork, which is available from the link in my signature. This goes into the CardArtManalink subdirectory of your install folder (eg. C:\Manalink\CardArtManalink)

I ended up getting the torrent instead because everything else is just painful to deal with and I don't have a clue why one thing breaks when I try to fix another, which is a recurrent thing... so, yeah, got tired of having to fiddle with crap I half understand.

Thanks everyone. Downloading via torrent now and will reseed. I can now scratch that periodically recurring MTG itch, since my 2015 stopped working...

If you didn't notice latest patch is as always in top of patches forum and is not this one. Of course you still need the base install.

D'oh! That's what I get for not keeping up!

So i decided to take this base and apply every update till the December 2021 so that people don't have to deal with the impossible mega art folder download.

You could do that only for the card art, as the rest are uploaded in mediafire.
You need some more posts to be able to share links, I think it is more than 5.

Yes, uploading is unlocked after five posts. I know it's inconvenient but spambots are very capable nowadays.
