Manalink Update Mar 1 2009

Postby jatill » 01 Mar 2009, 17:16

Update is here: http://www.savefile.com/files/1997761

1550 - voltaic key
559 - Izzet Signet (making the other 9 of these will be super easy for someone else... just change 2 numbers)
562 - orzhov bassicila (ditto above)
566 - electrolyze
567 - Wildfire
1545 - jokulhaups
570 - recoil
572 - Order of Leitbur
574 - order of ebon hand
581 - soul warden (sounded so easy, but took forever to figure out)
587 - meditate (wrong card shows for time talk legacy, but that's not so bad, right?)
588 - path to exile (not 100%, since your deck is searched no matter what, but close enough)
591 - conquer

No art, as usual.
I'm taking 2 weeks off to work on other projects, so good luck to other developers in the mean time. Enjoy!

(If anyone is going to add cards to the dll, please avoid the 120xxxxx numbers. That's my section :) )

ok, so now, I'll be the keeper of code?

Don't worry... with this new release, I'll add support for the new dll... coded one... :) the editor is updated with new flags and new dissassembler...

So now, $02001000 will be my place... :)

Thanks a lot for the update, jatill. you're awesome. Quick question, does it take advanced programming skills to make the other 9 signets, pain and shocklands? 'Cause if I'd be willing to put 'em up if it's not, just tell me what to do.

I did it using another dll, all missing shockland/signets and bouncelands... is very easy to coding using yasm... :) see the other thread and download the 'example' files... :)
I'm not much excited to use another dll for now... but is a good start...

THANK YOU Orion!

Latest manalink release:

Okkay: I've done it and - ta-dah!! - I've decided that I won't modd anymore because I've realized how difficult it is. Most of the cards that I like may be very similar to some that already exists in the game but even small differences may lead to unexpected HUGE difficulties for me, so I prefer to help with what I know that I can do (does eating pizza couts?! LOL! )
Anyway, thanks to the patience and the help of Harry and Draggamor, that have given me precious advices, I have managed to complete a good list of cards with very few approximations (and still closed to 90% of the oridinal cards, as we have decided time ago in the old forum) that are mainly oriented for "old school" players and fans of creature-based thematic decks (now you can make a decent minotaur, bird or griffin deck! ) so don't expect ultra-powerful or too complex cards even if old cards as Wildfire Emissary may still be very effective.

Once more... I leave "my" included cards in the hands of more expert moddes (Daggmagor in primis), so if you can find more effective codes, or see bugs or can fix problems that I have not been able to, please feel free to do them without asking, ok? About that, I've agreed with Draggamor that, when he will feel ready, he will also come on homeland set, so don't remove the free spaces to Homeland cards as baron Sengir that I have not been able to code, because are in for this purpose.

Also, jatill, since you have coded the Pump knights, can you make one more stepp and make the new versions of them that gain flying instead than first strike? I like especially the black one because it is a zombie too, not only a knight...

Fixes: fixed minor cards as Marhaud Elsdragon and Frost Giant's power; improved filters for the deck editor (many cards were missing associations for their abilities)

Card list:
Abbey Gargoyle
Anaba Spirit Crafter
Autumn Willow* (can't "loose" shroud)
Aysen Crusader
Death Speakers
Eron the Relentless
Narwhal
Soraya the Falconer* (mass banding, since it is not known yet how to set "target creature type gains...")
Wall of Kelp
Angelic Curator
Malach of the Dawn
Voice of Duty
Voice of Grace
Voice of Law
Voice of Reason
Voice of Truth
Warrior Angel
Ashcoat Bear
Pale Bear
Striped Bears
Windreaper Falcon
Wild Aesthir
Guma
Algae Gharial
Pearl Dragon* (have been unable to turn wildifre emissary effect into +0/+1. If you want, mana is already ok (1W) and you find the code line at 0120294E. Until I can't find a solution, it has Aven Flock effect).
Volcanic Dragon
Wildfire Emissary
Thundering Giant
Ekundu Griffin
Teremko Griffin
Wild Griffin
Zuberi, Golden Feather
Sandstone Warrior
Storm Shaman
Jeska, Warrior Adept
Scalebane's elite
Hawkeater Moth
Pincher Beetles
Deadly Insect
Balduvian War-Makers
Balduvian Horde
Rootwater Hunter
Manta Riders
Sanguine Guard
Order of Yawgmoth
Zombie Outlander
Unyaro Bee Sting
Vitalizing Cascade
'Twas in the bogs of Cannelbrae
My mate did meet an early grave
'Twas nothing left for us to save
In the peat-filled bogs of Cannelbrae.

Mathusalem has replaced certain Card Art files with ones he did that had their dimensions corrected to better match the card frame sizes, thus giving us better pictures.

I have done the same for Orion79's update.
One of the great projects here, led by Huggy and his team, has been the High Quality scans of MTG sets for the use in MWS. I used these files which I have in my MWS library to get these great quality images into ManaLink.

BTW, one card, Vitalizing Cascade does not show it's picture with either Orion's original or my replacement art. I think that the card art number in the db might be incorrectly matched with the card?

EDIT: The art for Vitalizing Cascade is now fixed and is in the version linked below.

So just unzip these into your CardArtNew folder and replace the older images:

Thanks again to Orion for these great new cards!

Aww, sorry but I had to re-upload the file again because, when experimenting on pearl dragon power-up effect, I have partially deleted vitalizing cascade effect.
So it was something like "target player gains X life and get +0/+1"
Now it is fine and I've also replaced my low-res arts with Mathy ones...

Thanks to thedrigo for this update! 8)

yeah, totally skipped that part... hehe, sorry.
Well, here's the little little contribution by me: http://www.savefile.com/files/2031306
I also fixed the casting cost error on Wildfire, it was 4RRRR and the correct casting cost is 4RR.
Enjoy!
