Some strange when applying damage

Postby Althuna » 04 Jun 2024, 21:10

I am not sure what causes this. When I attack a player or planeswalker, the damage appears in a stack that doesn't disappear. It also doesn't get applied.

I have a save.

I have seen this behaviour 2-3 times in the past but couldn't find why this was happening. It didn't happen though while trying your savegame unless I need to do specific actions in specific order to make it happen.

Had it happen again. I suspect it is to do with Lotus Bloom. But I don't know. I have a save though just as I attack a planeswalker and it puts the damage in a box instead of actually damaging the planeswalker.

Had it happen again and this time no suspend cards. Maybe Brazen Borrower. I have another save. I attacked 2 pw's previous turn and it didnt do damage to 1. But I carried on and the next turn AI uses Gates Ablaze and the numbers just stay on the creatures.

I found that this happens reliably if I use the debug mode. I think it happens sometimes without using debug, but the two are probably related I guess.

I think Brazen Borrower causes it.

Happened again and I think I did not use any debug. I suspect it might be caused by Murderous Rider (Similar to Brazen Borrower) which has the option to destroy a creature but the AI doesn't know how to use that and just plays the creature. But I suspect that card causes the strange damage numbers appearing.

I'll try playing with debug mode turned off and see if that makes a difference.

Playing with debug mode off seems to help. But I miss pressing T when me or opponent are land locked at the start :)

I've been playing with debug mode turned off. I had the problem happen again and I got a save! Hope it shows up for you.
