[confirm]Stone Haven Outfitter doesn't trigger for own death

I attacked with Stone Haven Outfitter equipped with Captain's Claws and was killed in combat but it didn't trigger and I didn't draw a card.Ability works if other equipped creatures die.
Which card did behave improperly ?

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
