Krovikan Vampire, Seraph do nothing

Postby Korath » 25 Jun 2018, 22:12

Describe the Bug:
  1. Seraph works identically to Krovikan Vampire. It was actually printed with nearly-identical text in Ice Age; the functionally-very-different Oracle text is because of its reprint in Fifth Edition.
  2. It doesn't trigger at end of turn, because its target array and info_slot are cleared too soon. When that's fixed,...
  3. You just get the effect card; the creature card stays in the graveyard. When that's fixed,...
  4. If the Krovikan Vampire is copying something else when it deals damage to a creature or when the creature dies, the creature doesn't get returned to the bf. This'll be easier to test with M19's Metamorphic Alteration, but Dimir Doppelganger will do for now.
  5. If the creature leaves its graveyard between dying and the end step, but there's another copy of the card there (possibly the same physical card as before, having been put back into the graveyard), it gets returned to the bf.
  6. If you lose control of Krovikan Vampire or it leaves the bf, you sacrifice the returned creature even if it's phased out or equipped by an Assault Suit.
  7. The returned creature gets sacrificed if you don't control it when you lose control of Krovikan Vampire.
  8. The returned creature gets sacrificed if you gain control of Krovikan Vampire. Though good luck proving that with #6.
  9. The returned creature gets sacrificed if Krovikan Vampire leaves the bf while you don't control the vampire. Also really hard to prove with #6.
Which card did behave improperly ?
Seraph, Krovikan Vampire, and for #6, maybe it's partially Assault Suit's fault.

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
Dev master head, a02ffeb.

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
  1. Krovikan Vampire stays working like it does now (or, rather, how it's written to work); Seraph instead creates delayed triggers that fire at the end step regardless of whether Seraph is still on the bf or who controls it, and only needs to be a Seraph when the other creatures die.
  2. targets[] and info_slot only get cleared during EVENT_RESOLVE_TRIGGER. (For that matter, it shouldn't be iterating over targets[] at all during TRIGGER_EOT unless event is EVENT_TRIGGER or EVENT_RESOLVE_TRIGGER.)
  3. Resurrect the card at the position you found, not at the position represented by the same number as its csvid.
  4. Krovikan Vampire only has to be a Krovikan Vampire at the start of the end step.
  5. Never resurrect a different card that happens to have the same name as a damaged creature that died, only the same one that actually died, and not even that one if it left the graveyard and got put back into it.
  6. You can't sacrifice something that's phased out or equipped by Assault Suit.
  7. You can't sacrifice something you don't control.
  8. You only sacrifice the returned creatures when you lose control of Krovikan Vampire.
  9. Again, you only sacrifice the returned creatures when you lose control of Krovikan Vampire.
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?
I'm afraid to look.

I confirm the first 2 bugs that can be tested.
