[confirmed]Inverter of Truth exiles face-up

Postby Korath » 05 Nov 2018, 21:37

Describe the Bug:
Inverter of Truth exiles your library face-up.

Which card behaved improperly?
Inverter of Truth.

Which update are you using? (date, name)Which type? (duel, gauntlet, sealed deck)
Dev master head, 8865b7c.

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction?
Exile it face-down.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug?
The other cards in Manalink dev that exile cards face-down are: Bane Alley Broker, Bomat Courier, Clone Shell, Ghastly Conscription, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Grimoire Thief, Howltooth Hollow, Intet, the Dreamer, Jeskai Infiltrator, Jester's Scepter, Knowledge Vault, Magus of the Jar, Memory Jar, Mosswort Bridge, Necropotence, Praetor's Grasp, Pyxis of Pandemonium, Scroll Rack, Shelldock Isle, Spinerock Knoll, Summoner's Egg, Suppress, Three Wishes, Windbrisk Heights. I haven't tested any of them except Necropotence, which sort of works (see below). The ones that immediately return the exiled cards to non-exile like Ghastly Conscription and Jeskai Infiltrator are probably ok too.

(The cards not in Manalink that exile cards face-down are: Bottled Cloister, Colfenor's Plans, Duplicity, Free-for-All, Gustha's Scepter, Ignorant Bliss, Induced Amnesia, Kheru Mind-Eater, Kyren Archive, Mangara's Tome, Moonring Mirror, Necro-Impotence, Parallel Thoughts, Shared Fate, Thief of Sanity.)

Exiling cards face-down is poorly-supported in the engine; the closest it comes is to actually obliterate the cards in question, then re-create them when they return from exile, like Necropotence does. That doesn't work properly with the BFZ processor cards, though (which select cards from exile without any requirements on characteristics, so they should be able to pick face-down ones); and Warden of the Beyond is going to need a million and one hacks to even sort of see such cards. Commit 5beb7ad has the Shandalar implementation to get things right, but it relies on a very large amount of infrastructure that hasn't been ported to Manalink.
