Stolen Bogardan Phoenix-no return to battlefield if killed

If you steal a Bogardan Phoenix and then it gets killed and it didn't have a death counter on it, it doesn't return to battlefield at all.
Which card did behave improperly?
Bogardan Phoenix
Which update are you using? (date, name)Which type? (duel, gauntlet, sealed deck)

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction?
Bogardan Phoenix if it gets killed and it didn't have a death counter on it, it returns to the battlefield under controllers control.
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug?
