[duplicate]Trample and multiple blockers
by joseluiselblanco » 24 Sep 2021, 21:05
Here's the situation, I have 3 points left, I have 2 Sedge Troll and the computer has 1 War Mammoth. It attacks with it and I know it's going to play a Giant Growth so I block it with the 2 Trolls. It did cast a Giant Growth on it, then it asked if I wanted to regenerate the troll, I pay 1 swamp to do so and I lose...
Is there something I'm missing? I mean both Trolls should have been destroyed instead of 1 only and me getting 3 damage because of Trample?

This is a known and very old bug (trample is handled using old rules (you don't have to apply lethal damage to each blocking creature before assigning trample damage) duplicate of this: viewtopic.php?f=110&t=11838#p132885
I don't know if Korath has managed to fix this in shandalar.

It's not fixed in Shandalar, no.
It could be - more easily in Shandalar than Manalink, since deal_combat_damage() has already been moved out of the executable - but neither the attacking nor blocking AI would be able to account for it. Those are already the weakest parts of the AI by far, so I'm really hesitant to do anything that makes them even worse.
