RanDomino, when you edit a post remember to use the appropriate topic icon and to include a reason for the edit (even if the reason is obvious, including a reason is the only way for the system to record who did the edit which lets us know who did the confirming, etc.).

There is an EDH bugs thread on page 5 of Archived Reports that sounds familiar. Could someone who is familiar with EDH take a look?

Main talk is illegal cards in EDH, which have been discussed recently in recent reports (don't know if it's fixed though because there are various EDH threads)

There's at least two ways to move threads between subfora. One of them leaves the thread with the same ID (Example). One of them changes it (Example. Was at t=12046, now t=13394).

If this is something that's chosen by the mods when moving the thread - perhaps "copy thread" instead of "move thread" - please stop using the latter; git commit messages are immutable once pushed, so we can't fix them to follow the thread.

If it's something that happens seemingly at random, then it needs to be tracked down and fixed.

Moving posts keeping their ID-and not changing it like I did

I have seen your other posts also Korath about this behaviour and I was trying to figure what is going on.Also waited for a reply from the other moderators especially Stassy who is way more experienced to tell what I and at times other Moderators are doing wrong.

Anyway your last report made me look again and I just found what I was doing wrong. What confused me was that if you want to move a topic(the original post and all replies to it) it seemed logical to moderate the topic and move it to .... wherever you want to but this way you are not given the choice to move it to a free space in any forum you want but to merge it into others and only in specific topics. That's why I was using the split method but that changes the ID address as I realised after your first post about it.

In case any other moderator hasn't figure it out yet:
The posts need to be Moved through Moderate forum to any place so that their ID doesn't change and so our Developers can do their work without problems wasting their time trying to find the bug.

Sorry, for all the hassle I have caused you Devs.

Sorry, was trying to figure out but couldn't find the way to not change it, until as you said quick mod tool must not be used (that is a pity because it's a very useful and fast way to mod a thread)

Funny, I didn't know there was more than one way to do it. What is the quick mod tool? I always just used the moderator control panel.

Another quick point. When moving posts, make sure you uncheck the 'Leave shadow topic in place' box underneath the dropbox where you select the destination. Otherwise you are in essence just copying the thread to the new location.
