This topic will contain information about the latest release of Dreamwalkers.
Dreamwalkers is donationware, so it is fully playable for free.
Idea is to keep this project alive as long as I can spare the time for it.

I am exited to announce the first beta release 0.1 of Dreamwalkers.
This will be my new pet project now that Magarena is in the capable hands of Melvin.
Be aware that this is an early beta that needs a lot of gameplay testing.
I want to thank Epiko, who was a source of inspiration for this project.

There is a new release 0.2 with a couple of small bug fixes.
The startup is faster and there is a new cloud theme. :)

First of all congratulations on your first 2 releases and I wish you to have success on this project.

It is probably on your plans for Dreamwalkers but I would like to mention it too,it is boring and unattractive to have for example 10 Knights with the same name+picture but different powers and abilities.Of course it is only a test release. Variety of names and pictures will make the project attractive.

For gameplay I find odd and tiring to have to target a card and re target the bigger card that appears.If you want to play a burn for example why tap 4times(1select burn,2select the enlargement,3select creature,4select the enlargement)instead of 2 (1select burn,2select creature to hit).Maybe it has to do smt with the Ipod function?

Also I came up with 2 words(1 I think was an ability) that weren't explained in help menu unfortunately I didn't take a note and don't remember which ones,I will try to do so next time.

In beta release 0.3 there are a couple of user experience improvements.
The enhanced card images and sound effects are now default. The regular images support is removed.
The rendering of cards is also improved, look for instance at the attack and defense values.
There is a new foiling method, more subtle and with variation.

There is also a new rule, a minion's attack and defense can't be less than 0.
I personally do not like negative values for attack or power, so I added this rule.
The quest is shortened to only 16 opponents or two per level.
Finally I extended the help with a terminology chapter.

For beta release 0.4 improved card names and an option for touchscreen or mouse operation are planned.
This toggle will make the game even faster to play with mouse.

Release 0.4 is available. :)

It is now possible to choose the colors freely for a new game.

Several improvements to the card images were done to make the game look less repetitive.
See the screenshots topic for more information.

The card names are still the same, but I am not sure yet if these really need to be different.
They have a dual role and function also as card type. You can personalize the names.

Mouse controls are improved for faster gameplay, check help. Right mouse button is your friend.
With this approach a specific touchscreen mode is not needed.

Starting deck is now 20 cards. Rendering of valid choices looks clearer.
Two new colorless minions are added, the hero and heroine.

The next release will also depend on further input or feedback I get.

I will try out a simple idea for release 0.5.
For Magic games there is usually a text file somewhere with download locations for card art.
I will implement something similar for this game and see how it works out.
This file will be a separate download that can be user customized.
Art plays a central role in making a card game interesting, well most games actually.

After release 0.5, I will work on a forum topic with how the game plays and rules.
Then later on I can include it in the actual game help.

Release 0.5 is available. It contains several improvements.

There is now support for custom card artwork to give more variation to the cards.
The download contains a sample artwork file, check out the game help customizing section.
This is fully user customizable, but the game still contains default artwork that is always used.
Check out the screenshots topic for more information.

One of the most popular Magarena themes, the wood theme, is available again. :)
The card foil layers have even more variation.
The attack and defense boxes have a small sword and shield icon.
The deck editor now supports a maximized mode, so you can see even more cards.
The card selection in the deck editor is also improved.

When you start a new game, the game will now automatically build a deck for you, that you can still customize.
The card rarity distribution is tweaked so that there are less common cards.

Last but not least, the unlock dialog at startup is removed.
This functionality is now available in the donate button dialog.
As far as I am concerned, this game is now as good as free, but you still get a small treat if you donate.

I will now focus on describing the game in a new topic and checking out the gameplay myself.
It really plays well on my iPad with Splashtop remote desktop, so that is cool. :)
The expiry is removed. I have no idea yet when there will be a next release.

1)Wound ability is not mentioned in help menu.
2)I really miss an after combat phase which could provide the game with more strategy plays.I believe all MTG players will miss that.
3)Is it easy for a non-coder like me, to customize the names of the cards?
What do you think about naming different color soldiers after a certain empire for example,and different power soldiers with rank?
Ex.A Green soldier is Roman Soldier 1-1,a 2-2 is a Decarch, (I don't know how is called in english but he is the one to have 10 soldiers in command).

*For people who have played and liked the game,if you want them to donate I believe you should make known what extra features,(at least some of them)they buy so that they get attracted to the extra benefits from donating,IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. I can give you a key if you pm me your email, because I appreciate testing.

In the Donation button dialog there is a list with the bonus features that you will get.
It is not a lot, because I want to build up some momentum, it might become more in future.
Dreamwalkers is my pet project, so it can last some time. :)
By donating you don't buy anything, you encourage my work.
The idea is that the extra features are non essential for gameplay, just icing on the cake.

Wound is indeed not mentioned, it replaces cleave, I will update it.
I understand the strategic importance of after combat main. Let me think about it.

I already added the artwork customization option.
I will add something similar for card names and then you can play with it if you like.
I will make a 0.6 release for this because I do want to give options to users to mod the game without programming.
For each combination of card name and cost, you will be able to supply a number of custom names.
For instance "Soldier,3=Centurion". All minion types are linked to a single color.

If people want to play something like Magic on a tablet, this might be the closest thing.
So I really want as much feedback as possible about this, also on non iPad devices.
Android tablets have similar remote desktop applications.

To support the custom card names I made release 0.6. :)
Check out the Wiki and game help to see how the names can be modified.
I did not put a lot of work into the sample file, but it should give an idea.
Also non minion card names can be modded this way.
