That's exactly the reason why I never used your tools: I always thought that if the official TDX files have mipmaps, then the game probably uses them. I just tested my thoughts and it seems I was right: if you pay close attention, you'll see the edges of a card picture without mipmaps flickering for a moment when you mouse over it in your hand while it gets enlarged, and the card pictures with mipmaps seem less sharp when seen in small sizes.
You should also notice that I can reconvert all of my TDX to PNG with Gibbed Tools, except for the 1024x1024 picture. Maybe Eglin's tool and Paint.NET do something strange only with big pictures?

Actually, Eglin's tool seems to only work in reverse with images of size 512x376, even smaller sizes can't be converted back using Gibbed Tools. I don't know about Paint.Net, I simply mentioned it because it can also create TDX files, I don't know if they can be converted properly with Gibbed Tools or not (on any sizes).

Also, now that I know how to do the compression, adding mipmaps doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do, just no-one had requested it, so I figured no-one really wanted them (or cared about them).

Edit: Interestingly enough the official game has a weird mix of uncompressed, compressed with mipmaps, and compressed without mipmaps. Though it does seem like they compressed all of the card images with mipmaps. It looks as though all the deck images are uncompressed and the AI Personality images are a mishmash of all three types (though most of them look like they are uncompressed with a fair number of them compressed without mipmaps).

crash when there are more than 3 decks

Postby tarutaru » 04 Jul 2013, 11:33

Hi Riiak,

Things work fine when I have three decks but when I try to create the fourth deck then the game crashes after starting screen. It doesn't matter what decks they are, all of them work as long as the game folder doesn't have more than three decks. Any idea why this is happening?

Many thanks for the builder.

I'm not seeing this (I created 5 decks and had all of them in the game directory and had no problem starting the game), maybe there is a conflict or problem with another mod. People have been reporting crashes when they have kevlahnota's and sumomole's mods installed at the same time so maybe one of them is the problem. If you don't have any other mods installed then maybe two of the decks you created are trying to use the same uid?

I'm grasping at straws because I can't reproduce your problem.

Hey, i'm a noob to all this stuff but i've managed to create decks however not been able to use them against friends/people online, i understand this is slightly cheating ( a little ) but i've seen others use cards that they shouldn't be able to against me so i know it's possible? Any info on how?

To be able to use decks created with the Deck Builder online, both you and your opponent need to have the same wads (meaning you both have access to the same decks and cards). If you are playing Sealed Deck mode, then to use a modified sealed deck pool your opponent would also have to have that same sealed deck pool (the cards all map to the same deckOrderIds for both you and your opponent).

It has been reported, however, that you can change what cards you received from opening the boosters (in sealed mode) with other cards already available in the pool and use those against an online opponent (in this case the cards and the pool are the same on both sides). This involves editing your hex-editing your profile and recreating the hash once you have finished (it has nothing to do with my Deck Builder).

As for using cards that they shouldn't have been able to, you are probably talking about the currently locked Promo cards for the decks. These can be unlocked by changing them to regular unlocks by editing the unlock XML and changing game_mode="2" to game_mode="0". For more detailed info check this link.

Then the only cards/decks they can use against you are those cards/decks you already have (otherwise the game will kick someone out due to "Corrupted/Malicious" files) whether you have them unlocked or not is something else completely.

I deleted Kev's mod and now it works. I guess that means I won't be using Kev's cards ;/ I still have firemind's mod in there though.

Hello,

I have a issue with unlocks.

The number of copies of a card specified in the file is different from what I want

unlocks.jpg

And the unlock file :

Code: Select all
<UNLOCKS uid="1234202" deck_uid="123402" content_pack="0" game_mode="0">
  <CARD name="LAND_GRANT_12340130" deckOrderId="60" unlockOrderId="0" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="OBSIDIAN_BATTLEAXE_12340126" deckOrderId="61" unlockOrderId="1" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="LOVISA_COLDEYES_12340127@3" deckOrderId="62" unlockOrderId="2" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="SOSUKE_SON_OF_SESHIRO_12340035@3" deckOrderId="63" unlockOrderId="3" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="WINNOWER_PATROL_12340037" deckOrderId="64" unlockOrderId="4" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="PLATEAU_12340157" deckOrderId="65" unlockOrderId="5" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="SAVANNAH_12340158" deckOrderId="66" unlockOrderId="6" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="LOVISA_COLDEYES_12340127@3" deckOrderId="67" unlockOrderId="7" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="MIRRI_CAT_WARRIOR_12340069" deckOrderId="68" unlockOrderId="8" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="STONEBROW_KROSAN_HERO_123410128@3" deckOrderId="69" unlockOrderId="9" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="ARID_MESA_12340203@2" deckOrderId="70" unlockOrderId="10" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="WOODED_FOOTHILLS_12340204" deckOrderId="71" unlockOrderId="11" quantity="1" />
  <CARD name="WINDSWEPT_HEATH_12340173" deckOrderId="72" unlockOrderId="12" quantity="1" />
</UNLOCKS>
Did I made a mistake?

Your screenshot does not show any Quantity on unlocks (only Bias and Promo statuses). Bias does not equal Quantity. Bias is used for biased shuffling (shuffling a card towards the bottom of the deck on difficulty levels lower than the bias for the AI). And if you notice the bias did take effect in the unlock file (bolded below):
<UNLOCKS uid="1234202" deck_uid="123402" content_pack="0" game_mode="0">
<CARD name="LAND_GRANT_12340130" deckOrderId="60" unlockOrderId="0" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="OBSIDIAN_BATTLEAXE_12340126" deckOrderId="61" unlockOrderId="1" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="LOVISA_COLDEYES_12340127@3" deckOrderId="62" unlockOrderId="2" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="SOSUKE_SON_OF_SESHIRO_12340035@3" deckOrderId="63" unlockOrderId="3" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="WINNOWER_PATROL_12340037" deckOrderId="64" unlockOrderId="4" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="PLATEAU_12340157" deckOrderId="65" unlockOrderId="5" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="SAVANNAH_12340158" deckOrderId="66" unlockOrderId="6" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="LOVISA_COLDEYES_12340127@3" deckOrderId="67" unlockOrderId="7" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="MIRRI_CAT_WARRIOR_12340069" deckOrderId="68" unlockOrderId="8" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="STONEBROW_KROSAN_HERO_123410128@3" deckOrderId="69" unlockOrderId="9" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="ARID_MESA_12340203@2" deckOrderId="70" unlockOrderId="10" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="WOODED_FOOTHILLS_12340204" deckOrderId="71" unlockOrderId="11" quantity="1" />
<CARD name="WINDSWEPT_HEATH_12340173" deckOrderId="72" unlockOrderId="12" quantity="1" />
</UNLOCKS>
The order of unlocks is important as such the quantity on any one item in the list is limited to 1 (This is also why Quantity is not a column that is normally allowed). If you notice when you double click or use enter to add a card to unlocks that is already there it will add a second copy to the list instead of increasing the quantity.

This is by design, quantity should not be used with unlocks (if you turn it on it will be ignored when exporting). The only way to add the quantity column to the unlocks is by manually adding it to the Settings.xml file, which should not be done for this very reason.

Edit: v1.0.2.0 is now available, the main change with this version is the addition of MipMap generation for compressed TDXs. An option has been added to the options screen to enable or disable this MipMap generation (enabled by default). I also fixed a language bug on the Basic Filters window (Multi-Coloured was not being displayed correctly).

I have translated the program to Portuguese-Brazil. I uploaded the .xml file under the DotP 2014 Deck Builder Wiki.

I hope this helps!
