You are absolutely correct about MacMurdo's deck. It was in thursday's Top Decks column, and I posted it in that category.Diogenes wrote:Hi Gos! Thanks again for keeping everything updated.
Monday's deck (Walker MacMurdo's Grand Prix Auckland Winner - Nov 5th) looked Forgeable to me, and out of curiosity I double-checked. It looks like all the cards are supported. I did find, however, that the text file for Craterhoof Behemoth is misnamed in cardsfolder.zip. I'm not sure if this is an issue for how your tools check decklists against supported cards, as I've seen the behemoth in other decks you've provided. I just thought I'd mention it, and if there's another reason why this deck isn't Forgeable I'm curious to find out.

I forgot that they cover the same decks in different articles sometimes. I'll keep it in mind, sorry for bugging you.
Out of curiosity, do you sort which decks go where roughly chronologically (seeing as you compile the daily list weekly,) or is a deck considered to have "graduated" from other articles if it makes it into Top Decks?

I generally put decks where they first appear in an column on wizards.com, with the exception of the Daily Deck Lists - if a deck appears in a "proper" column, I'll put it there and remove it from the DDL category.Diogenes wrote:I forgot that they cover the same decks in different articles sometimes. Cool. Thanks Gos.
edit: And I just noticed that you described your method in your first post.
I've actually been going through the daily deck list archives; I take years-long breaks from paper Magic from time to time (Forge is what got me interested again,) and it's cool that there's a resource to catch up with how the various formats have changed over the last few years. I'd actually like it if you included the duplicate lists in the dailydecks archive, since I can follow along in Forge on a second monitor and try stuff out (it's not immediately clear what's missing because it's unforgeable or because it's somewhere else, and if the filenames are the same even if someone wanted to merge all your archives they wouldn't get duplicate entries unless two decks had the same mainboard.) Then again, datestamps before deck names would totally fit my groove, but I'm probably the only one who'd like that. ^_^
Anyway, it's just a thought. No complaints from me: without your decklists, I probably wouldn't be back into the game at all. I try to say thanks to you (and the devs and users here) a bunch, not just for courtesy - I really do appreciate it!

I only associate each deck with one category (in the database I use), and delete identical decks, even though they may have been played by different people at different occasions. Reconstructing all past daily decks that I've moved or deleted would be a huge amount of work - I doubt it's ever going to happen.Diogenes wrote:I'd actually like it if you included the duplicate lists in the dailydecks archive, since I can follow along in Forge on a second monitor and try stuff out (it's not immediately clear what's missing because it's unforgeable or because it's somewhere else, and if the filenames are the same even if someone wanted to merge all your archives they wouldn't get duplicate entries unless two decks had the same mainboard.)
It would be nice to be able to add more information to the decks, like date and format, and have a way of using that information in-game, e.g. choosing to play Kamigawa-era block constructed decks against each other. This makes lot of sense in the current UI - you could have the option of playing or playing against a random deck from a chosen format/time period or a deck randomly constructed from a chosen format/time period's card pool.Diogenes wrote:Then again, datestamps before deck names would totally fit my groove, but I'm probably the only one who'd like that. ^_^
Thank you as well, that's very gratifying to hear.Diogenes wrote:Anyway, it's just a thought. No complaints from me: without your decklists, I probably wouldn't be back into the game at all.
