My Personally 'Remastered' Card Artwork, With Love.
by KENOG » 22 Aug 2013, 02:13
Hi. This is my first upload here
. First or last, doesn't really matter, anyway.
These are Artwork for certain cards, for some of the cards you might be using in your Mods. However, these have been personally 'remastered' by me, for personal use (It's all personal, since I have this OCD thingy). I found some of the Artwork for certain cards, in certain Mods, rather a bit dull, or blurry, or yellowish, or 'out of sync' (You would understand, assuming you've been using them), something which kept bothering me. So I had to download pure copies of these Artwork, and 'tweak' them, to make them look as realistic as the original cards, or sweeter 'Eye-Candy'. I thought some of you might find them rather attractive enough to replace the one's you have, so decided to share. Anyway, if you like them, enjoy!

Um, this is kinda stupid, but is there a way I can upload screenshots of the artwork, without having to start an account on imgur, photobucket or such?

Well, there are a couple of ways:
I believe it is still preferred that if you are going to upload a lot of images to host them elsewhere to try and minimize bandwidth/resource usage.
For example images you probably only need a few side-by-side images to show off some of your changes.
- Attach the images to one or more forum posts, you can then inline them or link them from one post to another (as the number of attachments per post is limited).
- Upload them in the wiki then link them from there. Just make extra sure you use unique file names so that you don't override other images that may have been uploaded to the wiki.

Yes, it works! Thank you, RSN
BTW, the Keyrunes, Cluestones etc. were for use with your Mod. Thanx for that one (The Guild-based Mod)

Love the thought behind this but I have absolutely no idea what to do with the enhanced art now that I've unzipped it. How does one go about changing the art on cards??

It's easy.
First, you need RSN's Deck Builder (Don't forget to thank him
), and Gibbed Tools by Rick (Thank him, too
)
Then, once you have downloaded a Mod you want to use (Both the Core .WAD and the Artwork .WAD), put them both in your game directory (right where the .exe for the game would be).
Now, open RSN's Deck Builder. (You might have to direct it to the game directory when you open it the first time, so that it can read your WAD files. They contain the cards your game uses.)
You'll see all the cards your game cad database contains (and those from the Mod databases, as well). Scroll though the cards listed, and see which card has which artwork, and decide which ones you might want to replace. Then, below he first blank column in the deck Builder window (That's where you actually build your main deck), you'll find a button called 'Card information'. click on it.
Now, you'll have a new window, with many things you can edit. DON'T mind any of those. What you need is the blank area on the right, which has three options at the bottom, namely 'Use deck image', 'Load an image' and 'Build an image'. Click on 'Load an image'.
Choose the require .PNG from the folder containing my tweaked artwork, and open it. Its preview should appear in the blank area (It will look 'jammed' from the sides; Don't worry, when implemented in a card, the ratio will become perfect). Now, right click on the preview, and choose export, as .tdx. Give it it's code number as it's name (you can find a card's code number by running your cursor over a card name, in the cards list). Save the new .tdx on your desktop.
Next, open the WAD containing the card that you want to modify, using Rick's Unpack Tools (Gibbed Tools). Keep double clicking on each folder within the unpacked folder, until you reach a set of folders which has an 'Art Assets' folder among them. Open it, then Illustrations folder in it, and put your .tdx from the desktop, into it. Copy and replace.
Pack the unpacked WAD using Gibbed tools, and put it in your game directory (Don't forget to remove the previous WAD, and rename the new one. just remove the '_unpacked' from its name).
There. You're done! Enjoy!
