Thanks for the info Steve.
Dave is our resident expert on Maven and he is the one that put together our build and deploy system. I just issue the Maven command that builds and deploys our snapshot and beta releases.
I quickly looked at the tests located in src/test/java but I could not find a test class that looked like a good candidate.
The TestNG/Surefire test may be a part of the pom file and I do not feel competent enough to touch this file. I did a search and found that the pom file does list "TestNG" and "Surefire". The build failure bug may be related to a bug in the TestNG/Surefire plugins.
There is a difference between the snapshot and beta releases. The beta releases tend to take more time and I believe that there is more lines of text appearing in the terminal window.
I have had a number of snapshot releases end in various build failures. Most times I just try again at some point and it will then work out OK.
The snapshot release build failures are not very visible as the Maven command does not change the version number nor does it update the version that is located in the pom file.
The beta releases build failures cause more of a problem unfortunately.
I will go ahead and release the 1.4.7 archive as I suggested in a previous message.
