I'm going to cover every change between this torrent and the old one, it will take me some time to finish.

I have implemented many changes to this new torrent.

A lot of the changes are related to naming. If you write software which uses these pics, please consider supporting these changes. Otherwise users will have to rename cards to support each software, which means lots of different sets floating around, which is confusing and wastes bandwidth.

Capitalization matches the printed card.
I didn't have too many corrections to make here, but I did have to make some, since capitalization has changed over the years.
Here is a made up example:
Lord Of The Rings (Old)
Lord of the Rings (New)
The capitalization on our cards is likewise inconsistent.

Until now only crops and fulls were uniquely identified in the file name of the pic.
So if you tried to unzip XLHQs into the same folder as tiny fun crops, you had to choose one or the other, or keep them in separate directories.
Now there is a unique four letter identifier for every card type:

Land.full.jpg
Land.xlhq.jpg
Land.4khq.jpg

Set codes have been changed.
Previously, I used whatever Magic Workstation was using, which means Alpha was "A", and there were a lot of two-letter set codes as well.
Now everything has a three-letter set code that corresponds to Gatherer, So Alpha becomes Limited Edition Alpha = LEA.
I don't think Gatherer even existed before...
Not every set has a Gatherer code, but this first torrent update only includes the sets that do. With the next update, which will likely include sets like Promos that are not accounted for on Gatherer, I'll have to figure out something.

In the previous torrent all sets were named the same and identified by folder.
So, you couldn't have zipped crops and zipped fulls in the same place, and the only way to tell the difference between one 4ED.zip and another 4ED.zip (without looking at which folder they were in) was to look at the contents.
Now, all archives are identified by contents:
4ED Tinys.zip
4ED Crops.zip
4ED Fulls.zip
4ED XLHQs.zip
4ED 4KHQs.zip

The result of all this naming is that all different zip files can exist in the same folder, and be unzipped into the same folder, and there is no need to overwrite or choose between them, and this without bringing any added complexity to the arrangement.

I did this not only to address the deficiencies outlined above, but because I think the game software should be able to choose between the different pics without the user having to specify different directories for essentially the same pics. This is what Magic Workstation always did with crops and fulls; now I have taken that paradigm and expanded it.

Throughout our history flip cards and split cards have not been named consistently.
Akki Lavarunner-Tok-Tok, Volcano Born
Akki Lavarunner, Tok-Tok, Volcano Born
or just plain "Akki Lavarunner"
could all be the same thing.

This release gave me a chance to fix that, and to do so I had to decide on a convention.

Now, flip cards always have an underscore with no space:
"Akki Lavarunner_Tok-Tok, Volcano Born"

Split cards are denoted uniquely by a hyphen surrounded by spaces:
"Assault - Battery"

Previously, tokens were separated from their parent set and put in a token folder.
Now, tokens are combined with their parent set, where they belong, so you won't have to go looking for them. They are still available separately too, as are emblems.

I don't mean this comment as a "that's it?" type of inquiry - I know that you spent many hours compiling and verifying this wonderful archive. I am curious about the far-future of the torrent though. Will you be updating it with promo cards and oversized cards too? I would be nice to have everything in XLHQ, including the promos.

I do have a set of the tokens and advertisement cards that I have done. But according to extreme I did not do a very good job at matching colors between the different scanners. If you would like I can post them.

No, probs, that's a perfect question.

This torrent is meant to be, and will be, COMPLETE. At first glance, obviously, the promos and oversize pics are missing. I simply ran out of steam and couldn't figure all those out. I NEED the help of the community to tell me WHAT IS MISSING. This is just (what I hope is) a good solid foundation. If someone would make a list that would be fantastic, it's what I was hoping for and why I released the torrent in its rather incomplete state anyway.

Everything in this first release of the torrent is complete, that is, if you see a full, you will also see a corresponding crop and XLHQ. Some of these never existed before and extreme helped me with those missing pics.

I make no guarantees as to missing XLHQs in the near term, but I fully expect all those holes to be filled eventually, if the original scans still exist or can be done again.

As to 4KHQs, I don't think we have the stuff to make those for older sets, but for every future set we should have them.

The differnces between this torrent and the last one will eventually be covered in my first posts, I'm still working on it as time allows and as the thoughts occur to me.

To stay consistent I created a torrent for them as well and posted them in the 2014 thread.
Going forward I will get with you about adding the images to what ever repository you like if you want to release the images I work on

I wish I could hear the rest of the story (in a "near" future, ¿maybe? ¿fo' real? lol) about how this started, I'm pretty curious.

This project is huge. It's like, "Oh dude, I like so much the Duel Masters cards... If only I had the pictures and the scans of the Cards in a perfect quality... Wait, I have an idea, if i took time and group with some people that have my same dream, ¿could we do this?"

Seriously, I dont know if you know what you are doing and have done scanning ALL of the HISTORY of MTG. Its unthinkable. Its like want to touch the sun, and no matter how much you try to stretch, you will never touch it.
