I think the whole idea of human vs human matches in hotseat mode cannot be done right no matter what. Reason is, responding to things not on your turn, declaring blockers, etc. Magic has lots of things that require the player who's turn it is not, to do.

Yessss this sounds perfect. I've been wanting a feature like this as soon as human vs. human came out, my friend is just getting into magic and this would be a great way to teach him a more advanced version of magic then games like Magic 2014.

Maybe just a popup when starting a match with more than 1 human player that lets you select the mode? You just have to look at how human lobby and registered players are built. I seem to remember that there's a good reason why human vs human cannot have different names, and that might affect this idea in some way, I'm not really sure, but thought it worth mentioning.drdev wrote:If desired, I could also add a Pass-and-Play game option to enable it so it doesn't interfere with a single person wanting to play against himself (or herself).

If this feature is simple enough do you think it could be in the next Forge update? I want to get my friend learning so he can draft BOTG with me at my card shop.

Imagine this, using a program like TeamVeiwer you could see someones screen and then play Forge with them. You could email each other decks and talk over Skype or a similar program. When its the other persons turn you can just turn around. If you both have webcams its even better because you can tell if they're cheating or not. I have a friend in Santa Cruz that plays MTG and it would be really cool to be able to do this.Xitax wrote:I think the whole idea of human vs human matches in hotseat mode cannot be done right no matter what. Is there a way for common creature abilities to be displayed on the creature cards in play? Things like Flying, Protection, etc. I know you can refer to the card Oracle text itself, but when some of these abilities are granted temporarily, or not from the creature itself (eg Auras, granted flying by other creatures/spells, etc), it's not reflected on the UI. Something like what is done for the Microprose game or Manalink would be good.

This isn't true. The CardDetailPanel does display this information when it's being granted by another card.Riotlung wrote:but when some of these abilities are granted temporarily, or not from the creature itself (eg Auras, granted flying by other creatures/spells, etc), it's not reflected on the UI.

Example: I made a set of decks made out of all cards whose name contains a certain substring (don't ask why). I put them into a subdirectory of "constructed" folder, but I don't know how to restrict random selection of decks to only decks from that subdirectory.
Just in case you didn't notice yet, this support is now released in 1.5.11.Zypsilon wrote:I would like to be able to sort my Decks. E.g. by Alphabet / Format / Color.

I'm happy to announce that image view for card managers will be coming in the next release. He's a preview of what the Draft screen will look like:Pongpyng wrote:I think some user may already request this feature but I just want to post it again just in case nobody did.
It would be great if you could add card view especially for draft mode.
And thank you for your hard work. You're the best!
Let me know if you have any specific requests for this new feature in case I can incorporate them before the release.
Thanks.

Please, could you add a text reminder to the Game > Players tab showing the number of spells cast the current turn (storm count) like oldie versions of Forge had? Thanks for this great great work.

I'm really happy with the new Constructed duel screen and the possibilities for choosing decks. Is there any chance that we can use this same screen for the variant modes?

Actually, I wonder whether this could be displayed directly on the cards with storm.eljinete7 wrote:Please, could you add a text reminder to the Game > Players tab showing the number of spells cast the current turn (storm count) like oldie versions of Forge had? Thanks for this great great work.
There are many cards in Magic which care about some rarely-used things. While displaying that thing at all times would be too much information, displaying it on the card that cares about it (in the space where you normally see things like cards exiled with Oblivion Ring), might be useful.
This includes storm count on cards with the mechanic, and also things like:
List of cards that would be affected on cards like Second Sunrise.
Number of creatures that died this turn on Khabal Ghoul.
Your actual devotion count on cards that care about devotion, like Gods.

That is the plan, Mark has gotten really busy again and we will have to wait until his current work related project is finished.

Just to clarify, the old variant match setup screens will disappear completely. Instead they will all be launched as constructed matches with whichever variant(s) applied. So far I've converted Vanguard and Planechase, and both can be applied at the same time, used individually, or no variants applied at all. Commander will probably be the last to be converted as a few things need to change. But ultimately all variants will be able to be applied to a constructed game at the same time (except variants of a variant of courseChris H. wrote:gos wrote:I'm really happy with the new Constructed duel screen and the possibilities for choosing decks. I'll hopefully be able to start working on it again this week, but no promises.
