[fixed/closed]AI plays RAV bouncelands as ABU duals

Postby Nexhro » 11 Aug 2014, 23:32

Describe the Bug:
This is a weird one I stumbled across while playing some Pauper matches:

When the AI plays a Ravnica block bounceland (Azorius Chancery, Dimir Aqueduct etc.), it enters the battlefield as an ABU dual with the bounceland's respective color combination.
For example, an Azorius Chancery played by the AI enters the battlefield as a Tundra.

These lands return to their original state when they are destroyed, i.e. the graveyard viewer shows the bounceland, not the ABU dual.

Which card did behave improperly ?
RAV bouncelands played by the AI

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
JOU, duel

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
Bouncelands don't enter the battlefield as ABU duals when played by the AI.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Revealing AI's hand via debug mode will show that AI draws an Azorius Chancery which turns into a Tundra when played.

They were coded like that for AI as AI didn't play them at all even if bribed with huge AI values as Jatill who coded them and test them said.So he used this trick for AI so that AI's game doesn't get destroyed if it has a deck that uses these lands.
Even worse I suspect they confused AI which made AI not to play anything.(this the case with other complicated lands we have, too). The strange thing is that AI has some problems even with lands from the original game.(Urza Lands)

Re: [confirm/Trick help AI]AI plays RAV bouncelands as ABU d

Ah, I see.

In this case, there likely won't be any way to solve this anytime soon.

Thread should probably be tagged intentional or not a bug.

1) It looks like the bouncelands have been tinkered with. As of CoRM15 mini3 (and in previous versions of CoRM15), the AI doesn't play lands if it has at least one bounceland in hand (even if it already controls lands).

2) It also doesn't play bouncelands when it already controls lands.
The bug is inconsistent, meaning that at some point AI might play a bounceland. In most cases it doesn't, though - maybe there is some kind of threshold regarding its land count.

When it plays such a land, it no longer enters the battlefield as an ABU duel, which is nice.

Bug 1 is reminiscent of ye olde Rupture Spire & co bug, except that it also occurs when AI already controls lands.

Edit: It looks as though the threshold for both bugs is 3 lands controlled. So if the AI controls at least 3 lands, it will play any land including bouncelands. If it controls 2 or less lands it will play neither bouncelands nor other lands, if it has at least one bounceland in hand.
