Seldom lurker here, I like making gimmick decks and I'd like to contribute.
A difficult gimmick to build around, Precursor Golem is kinda expensive and targeted removal wipes him out. While G or W would've fit better (and G has its share of 'Draw a Card' spells), U has Tolarian Academy and I think the deck needs the 'unfair' ramp. Perhaps I should've made this WU so I can get Leonin Abunas.
I also have a more reasonable Golem Tribal (since I haven't seen any of the opponents pack that). Mycosynth Golem is much more effective here since its effect is greater with the artifact lands. Though having two Emperions and a Colossus might be overkill.
I've also made this Light from Within deck intended for playing on the net. Even if the main enchantment doesn't come up, it still poses as a decent aggro deck.
I've only tested the decks in AI matches a couple of times. Either they fail utterly or they terrifyingly succeed. Any suggestions are welcome. Meanwhile I'm working on Charge Counters, Sunburst and Mono U Unblockable creatures.

The AI is not ready to play this deck. It won't fetch Precursor Golem with Fabricate, Tinker or Transmute Artifact. All the artifacts need to be cheaper than 5 mana for the AI to pick Precursor Golem.tojammot wrote:A difficult gimmick to build around, Precursor Golem is kinda expensive and targeted removal wipes him out. We already have a golem deck (Frankenstein 2 & 3), but it's a little bit different, because of the splicers. So your deck should be ok, if it focuses a little more on stuff the other on can't use like Urza's Incubator and Brass Herald.tojammot wrote:I also have a more reasonable Golem Tribal (since I haven't seen any of the opponents pack that). Wow, thanks for improving my decks and the additions are really cool. I tried testing Charge Counters and Sunburst, turns out the AI wasn't also ready.
EDIT: Seeing that Urza's Incubator or Mycosynth Golem drop is scary.

I built an tribal around scarecrows. I guess if you cut the Door of Destiny and / or Adaptive Automaton, it should be easy for sure, though with these it should amount to a medium opponent.
Re: New quest decks

How about an Eldrazi-based deck?
I am conflicted. This deck seems to be superior to medium opponents (due to the possibility of Call to the Kindred and Urza's Incubator), though it may not be enough for it to become a strong opponent. I for myself would say it is more a medium opponent then a strong one, because it really needs time to deploy its forces of death.
Should it too strong for being medium, blue could be completely cut, increasing some Eldrazo instead (or changing it to red)
EDIT: on a second note, it seems to be pretty solid for being medium...
EDIT2:
any Idea how I could make this deck more consistent?
The idea is simple - getting a Mycosynth Lattice or an Enchanted Evening and then using the abilities from the creatures + Aura Shards to remove any threats. When Mycosynth Lattice is in play, Vandalblast becomes a mass removal, effectively winning the game.
- Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury gives tokens (which can trigger Aura Shards) with mana accelerating or can use its second ability to blast artifacts or enchantments.
The rest of the cards should be self-explaining. This deck has two problems - it is quite slow and needs a lot of cards (or the right ones anyway). Any idea how I could enchance it to become a hard opponent...?
EDIT3:
Do we have a working Moat deck? (outside of Shandalaar)

I was thinking about a slightly different approach - flyers combined with Moat and Stormtide Leviathan and Magus of the Moat.
Additionally Archetype of Imagination will prevent the Enemy from having any creatures able to attack once a Moat or Magus of the Moat hits the board.
Some nice flying cards like Warden of Evos Isle, Suntail Raptor, Cloudfin Raptor (that one can become extremly powerful
) and Pride of the Clouds could boost the flying theme. Additionally Favorable Winds and some cards which are simply IMBA (Baneslayer Angle, Kira, Great Glass-Spinner (there is not a single card required to target own creatures anyway
), Angel of Jubilation (though harder to play), Guardian Seraph (pretty immortal, IMO), Dungeon Geists, Sower of Temptation, etc. There are far enough cards to build a flyer themed deck, throw some Moats into it and it actually could work . . .

Alright, if it gets implemented add it under the name "Gabe Newell". I forgot to mention but Standstill could be removed and the following cards could be added in for extra oomph:Sloth wrote:Looks good, but i have to test whether it's not too frustrating for a medium opponent.
Force Bubble
Dissipation Field
Aurification
Ajani's Mantra
Along with any other enchantments that gain bonuses over time. Perhaps it could even be creatureless.
"Wonder Twins", other duos could count.Sloth wrote:Also looking good. Give it a name and i will add it as a medium opponent.tojammot wrote:I also made a Soulbound Deck

I've added the soulbond deck as Wonder Twins 2.
Testing the deck also revealed some need for tweakings. I have to test some more.

Well, I think it does have a slight different approach. While Han Solos deck is only against enchantments, and often using protection from these, while my deck has the sole purpse of destroying any threats, I do think that they differ. Then again they can feel pretty similar as well.Sloth wrote:It's very close to Han Solo 3. For reference:Nordos wrote:any Idea how I could make this deck more consistent?

With my deck I wated to make is an anti enchantment and artifact deck, while Han Solo mostly focus on enchantments. Against, for example, an affinity deck, it should be pretty useless.
If you say, that it is too similar, though, I don't mind
Got it. I totally missed that deck - it is more or less exactly what I envisioned.Sloth wrote:Just make it different enough to the Radiant decks:Nordos wrote:I was thinking about a slightly different approach - flyers combined with Moat and Stormtide Leviathan and Magus of the Moat.
Additionally Archetype of Imagination will prevent the Enemy from having any creatures able to attack once a Moat or Magus of the Moat hits the board.
Some nice flying cards like Warden of Evos Isle, Suntail Raptor, Cloudfin Raptor (that one can become extremly powerful) and Pride of the Clouds could boost the flying theme.
There are far enough cards to build a flyer themed deck, throw some Moats into it and it actually could work . . .

Hm, atm I am thinking of creating a Lightmine Field deck, though I don't know if it allos for any interesting interaction. With Death Pits of Rath it would instagib any attacking creature, maybe it can be used to stall time? Death Pits of Rath in combination with Electrickery should work extremly well aswell. If the AI can handle it, is another concern, though

This is harder than I thought.
Could use some tweaking, I considered adding R for cards like Vigilante Justice or U solely for Mass Appeal. TBH, the easy isn't as easy as I'd like it to be and the hard one's not threatening fast enough. There's also a mono-W one I made:

I like it.
Before I go on a dormant state, here are some more decks to mull over for the holidays.
It started out as a raid deck, it was too slow so I built it around Mardu Ascendancy instead.
We need someone to make a fungus deck.
