Just a reminder: for people making Shandalar "enemy decks", you will also want to replace the current "rarity.dat" file you have by the new one in the zip (so that the new cards appear in the Deck.exe's "block filter").

I replaced the rarity.dat file but the new cards don't appear in the deck builder with block filter on ....

That's odd. I've tested and it works here.

First, make sure you installed the LoremastersTower1 zip file (i.e. the version with the new cards) and not the RuinedTower3 zip file (i.e. the version WITHOUT new cards, but possibly more stable).

Aswan jaguar wrote:@ Teraunce if you haven't tried another install a fresh one (and you don't say you tried that) then:
Installation directions: If this is your first installation

1- Install Shandalar from any of the recent versions posted in this forum.(I highly reccomend this) :
viewtopic.php?f=76&t=2349
2- Install Manalink into the same directory, overwriting everything.(Use one from these latest = 1 probably better):
viewtopic.php?f=55&t=6401#p82367
3- Update Manalink to the Fate Reforged patch (not any later ones, for now), including the art updates. (Just the Manalink art updates is fine; you don't need to install the CardArtShandalar package.) Install Manalink 3 latest patch into the same directory, again overwriting everything :
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6a86j ... 325-FR.rar
and read carefully the instructions for cardart from the last fate reforged patch that is:
viewtopic.php?f=85&t=16964#p176033
4- Unzip the attached package (Ruined Tower 2)into the same directory (again overwriting everything if needed):
download/file.php?id=22342

If this fresh install doesn't work, tell us if you have the same problem or different ones.
I tried that route 3 times before I went the bog-wraith route. But whatever, I wish you guys all the best fun in the world, this game is calling random libraries and reinstall won't help.

It hasn't even been a whole week and I'm already almost at my 300-new-card goal for a new non-bugfix version.

MicroProse cards rewritten:
Atog
Disrupting Scepter
Emerald Dragonfly
Fallen Angel
Flying Carpet (with the functional change introduced in Sixth Edition)
Goblin Balloon Brigade
Hurkyl's Recall
Obelisk of Undoing
Pestilence
So, rather than release a new version so soon, I'm going to slow down for a while on individual cards and try to make some progress on the adventure-mode bugs and perhaps some of the harder duel features.

There are two fairly major bugs in both Loremaster's Tower 1 and Ruined Tower 3 - cancelling during targeting of a spell doesn't refund its mana cost; and both Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Bargain make both players skip their draw steps (only major since both are dungeon treasures) - so I'll be releasing new versions in both series in a day or two.

Hi Korath, noticed today that Thornweald Archer's deathtouch ability isn't working. Perhaps this could be fixed in the next update? I'll report again once I find others.

Works for me. And the proper place to report bugs is up at the top of the screen.

Do we have the complete list of new coded cards from Tower and Loremaster beside the rarity.dat and the Deck.exe? Using a specific Shandalar list for PDA to automate deck generation would be nice...

I can make something that dumps a list of all valid cards, sure; the hard part's already done for generation of rarity.dat. Any particular format?

I don't know about stassy but, as far as I'm concerned, a modification of the "--show-prices" mode so that an additional binary "coded" column is added would be nice (if feasible).

(The sheer speed with which you keep adding cards is dizzying, btw :P Korath for President!)

Korath wrote:I vaguely recall, from back when I first started to try to unravel the combat AI in Manalink, that there's a handful of arrays it uses that limit it to only analyzing 16 creatures. (I don't remember if that's 16 creatures total, or 16 creatures controlled by each player, or 16 total creatures in combat, or 16 attacking creatures and 16 blocking creatures; though I think it's the last.) Crashes when there's more creatures than that don't surprise me; if anything, I'm more surprised that it doesn't crash more consistently, and only tends to slow way down.
AI attacked me with 21 creatures & tokens so there is more to it.

It's attacked me with similar numbers before too, and vice-versa. That doesn't mean it that it wasn't either overwriting other data or not fully analyzing the excess creatures.

This turned out rather well, I think. I haven't started on effects that let you play or cast other cards, whether for free or not, so most of the really interesting cards that would use this like Future Sight or Oracle of Mul Daya can't be done yet, though.

You never stop to amaze us with new features, better and more efficient ways to make things work and always trying to give a nice look to the game and game experience. This implementation is such a delight compared to what we have been used to with the Effect card attached on Oracle of Mul Daya!
=D>
And together with the trigger/activate from hand and trigger/activate from graveyard implementations the game feels so New and Different.
I am almost certain that at a point like a newbie I will be asking for help to use new features.
