No interesting stories to tell, since I've mostly been implementing cards that were already possible except that they weren't enabled in Manalink, and OGW's colorless mana costs were quite straightforward to program using an extension of the system I worked out for hybrid mana. (Mishra's Workshop's colorless-but-spendable-only-on-artifacts mana won't work on them, but there aren't any artifacts with colorless-only costs in the set, and Mycosynth Lattice isn't in Shandalar yet.)

Is this sort of between-patch update actually useful to anybody, or do I just come across as tooting my own horn?

Since we get to have all these at our disposal, it's quite impossible that someone who sees it doesn't feel greatful for it :)

If it's taking too much time for you to write it up, I suppose noone'll get mad, but I love pouring over these, it's like reading spoilers for new sets.

Er, two questions:

- Since you're porting spirits, what's your actual stance on making spirits playable before combat in general? They are currently quite difficult for the AI to use because most of the "spiritcraft" triggers only make sense if triggered before combat. Since arcane is waiting on splice, and spirits are the only things that trigger spiritcraft without it?

- Did Hearth Kami make it in? It's a hole in the red spirit curve ATM, and otherwise a nice way to mess up moxes. Though i'd mention it, I can't seem to spot it (wich could mean I'm blind as usual).

I think it's kinda cool.
It's great in that it shows that you're making progress, and it's useful in giving a heads up not only in what to expect, but also in what not to expect, to know what is and what isn't possible.

But it's not necessary, so if it's something you enjoy doing, great, but don't do it on our account

Well, sometimes it's good to feel your work is somewhat rewarded and cared, as this forum allow the use of the facebook finger, so it's not useless and satisfy both side.

Unfortunately for me, I am now very busy on the ML3 side with the latest patch so less time is allowed for Shandalar..

Can we have a list of what to download in one post (up to the latest update) please? I've been away for far too long and am a little confused.

There's so many things wrong here I barely know where to start.

CreateDIBSection - I assume you already tried the stuff here and here, because you searched for it instead of asking the developer directly, right?

cdtools.dll and advblocks.txt are distributed in every version of base Shandalar in this forum - 2010, 2012 before it was pulled, Ciroth Ungol's one-step-just-decompress-this-7z package. Installing one of those is step 1 in the instructions. If, crazily, you've been copying only the missing files prompted for, that's why it's crashing sans further prompting - it only has errorchecking for the first few.

shandalar.ini is distributed in every version of 2015 Shandalar, all the way back to RuinedTower-1.240.108858d. And if you're trying to run original Shandalar instead, A) the drawcardlib.dll and cardartlib.dll distributed with recent Manalink versions won't work with it, and B) why are you asking in this thread anyway?

I do have better things to do than to provide low-level tech support for development versions of this program, misposted directly into the development thread. (Let alone providing such for the original game, which I had nothing to do with.) User-friendliness, let alone one-click executable installers and whatnot, simply aren't going to happen until this is reasonably feature-complete. Demands that I skip directly to the end, as have been made elsewhere, are at best going to get people ignored so that I never have to read another post from them; at worst, going to get me to abandon the project completely, so everybody loses out.

I'd appreciate if a moderator could split the last several posts out of this thread.

Done!

People, this is NOT the place to ask for help or for "offering" your opinions on what Korath should or should not be doing! Allot of what was posted here recently shows the ignorance & misinformation caused by lazy thinking by those that don't take the time to search out allot of the info they're referring to that is answered & explained in other threads in this forum.

As for wanting a one click install that will make it easy for everyone to install these ongoing development releases, don't hold your breath! Korath has frequently mentioned in, yes other threads here in this forum, that he did not want to make it "easy" to install the releases. If you want to know why, I suggest you do a little work and find the posts here in this forum relating to his reasons why.

Along with most in this community who realize how we are all blessed & lucky as hell to have someone like Korath spending the time & doing incredible amounts of work for the benefit of all of us here, I as moderator here will do everything to make sure that we stay on course here. The last thing anyone of us wants is to piss Korath off to such an extent that he will simply turn his back & walk away from this.

As long as I am here and am the Global Moderator for this place, I will NOT let that happen!

For the new members here, seek out the other vets here who will gladly help you. Just take a bit of time & learn where things are to be posted in regards to your questions.

I hope that the ones who had their posts removed here understand that it is nothing personal & don't read anything else into this. Just take some time to check things and find the info you are looking for. If you still need help in finding the things you need info for, PM some of the other moderators here who will be happy to help you.

Now that my situation is cleared up and fixed, #-o , what is next? The latest set (2 weeks old) is Oath of the Gatewatch (OGW).

Well, speaking of development, what's up?

I'm on a break with decks until the next update (and possibly a bit longer because RL caught up with me or is about to), so I'm just asking for anyone who's curious - you relaxing until the gatherer stuff shows up or tinkering with something?
