My free time (and motivation for things leisurely) dropped precipitously mid-January. What work I've done has been firmly in my comfort zone - duel only, and no especially complex cards or ones that do things that couldn't already be done before.lujo wrote:Well, speaking of development, what's up?

So something a little more substantial. Lots of these will look familiar if you've been following my artwork requests over in the Manalink dev forum.
Initial plan was to release shortly after OGW, using the time between the Manalink BFZ patch and then to implement most of the cards I'd already made possible but had either skipped earlier or that weren't in Manalink. (The latter became newly-possible with the BFZ patch.) That was a realistic goal at the time; a series of personal disasters a couple weeks ago put a damper on things, so I'm only about two thirds of the way there.
New plan is to stop programming new cards when HQ OGW scans are available.After that, I'm down to one must-have rewrite (Living Artifact, for the new counter system) and one tourniquet to apply to an unrewritten card (Vesuvan Doppelganger, same reason) (edit: done). shandalar.exe -c is currently showing me 8572 cards, compared to Nomad's Bazaar 1's 5798, so it's high time I put something out there.

Hey. I joined to say me and my friend is really enjoying the newest build, Nomad's Bazaar. Big fan of the work you are doing! 
Anyway, the other thing is, my understanding is that bribing/paying off enemies is broken in this release and that it will be fixed in the next version... this is probably the most annoying thing about the current build as it makes it slow to progress. Any chance we can get a fix tot his in the near future? It also makes testing things a bit hard, I'm sure.

It seems that its upkeep effect of sacrificing another creature is programmed to be up to one other creature rather than always one. It does seem to be mandatory, as it force-activates but the player can hit the Done button rather than targeting a creature to not sacrifice a creature at all, when this was intended to be the card's drawback. The AI seems to always sacrifice due to this effect so it's not an issue when playing against it but still the player can abuse this card as a 4/3 flyer for 2B with no drawback. Thought I'd mention it here... sorry if it should've went elsewhere.

"Fixed in the next version" means, well, fixed in the next version. If you're bug-intolerant, then play the version labelled stable; that's why it's there.
Demonic Taskmaster: report filed.
shandalar -c is showing me 8798 cards, which is exactly 3000 more than the number I have noted down for NB1. So this seems like a good place to stop on that front, and work on bug fixes and engine-level features instead until we have OGW scans.

Alright no problem! Still enjoying the current version quite a bit.... wasn't trying to nag or anything. Any idea when the next version will be released? 
Also I will post my bugs I find there in that ticket page from now on. I found another one involving Vibrating Sphere not too long ago too.

ok not sure if this is where I should post this but I have a question if I build an AI exalted deck will the ai attack with only 1 creature to take advantage of exalted?

Try it and let us know. I'd be inclined to be pessimistic, but there's a couple decks in Manalink challenge mode that have a major exalted theme that do OK, and Manalink doesn't try to influence the combat AI at all. Listings below for reference; there's multiple cards from them missing in Shandalar, so they'll obviously need editing.

I've made a bunch of them in my deck pack. The AI will occasionally missplay it by attacking with multiple creatures if they can't be blocked without factoring in the bonuses. Still when you build the deck rigt with AI oddities in mind, it can seem like it works perfectly because it's a strong mechanic and plays in a straightforward way.
The bigger problem is the general combat AI, exalted seems to work the best out of several similar abilities added in the last update (bushido runs into issues, and the AI just dosn't understand flanking at all, for example).

hey korath a question development wise have you been able to work with planeswalkers as of yet? or is there something that is keeping you from doing it for now?
