During your turn, every spell cast before Tendril is counted then result is x2 = drain damage : it can be any instant, sorcery, enchantment, artifact (normal or mox or buggy artifact land) casted and put in battleground...I don't think abilities are counted in (mobs, enchantment, artifact, planeswalker activation abilities) though Rule Engine does
If you want an ingame example, make a duel against an AI tendril (for eg. take the deck used for Challenge 4), and the AI will do it once (never though he could do it, he tutored many manasource and blasted me for a whooping 17 dmg...then passed all turns

Hi and welcome
IMHO, the easiest is with 2 Sensei's Divining Top and something that can reduce mana cost (like Helm of Awakening).
Basically, just play spell that give you mana (Black Lotus for example
) and cheap spells that make you draw a lot (like Ancestral Recall).

Hurkyl's Recall yourself and bounce all your moxes and stuff, and then replay them. Not only will you usually come out a few mana points ahead, but you'll have just gained several storm in one shot.

Just save the mana acceleration for the big turn (moxes, lotus, dark ritual, cabal ritual, and so on), and ofc play Yawgmoth's Will which is the most powerfull Tendrils kill enabler ever made

in paper magic using Elvish Spirit Guides channel thing(rfg->add G) doesn´t provide spellcount.
does it provide spellcount in manalink ? not that it really matters ,i´m just curious.

I don't think those count in manalink, either, but I haven't watched closely enough to be 100% sure. The way manalink does it, you're basically activating a permanent (the rules engine) so that probably wouldn't count as a spell.
