Thanks for your diligent research :)

ZeSword wrote:* Worlds 1994 : all top4 available (they were on those gold-bordered decks)
I have these, but the 2nd-4th place decks all include Chaos Orb, which is not forged.

ZeSword wrote:* Worlds 1995 : a fourth deck from the top8 available (Andrea Redi, Pre-Sligh, the deck was on the archives from wizards)

* Worlds 1997 : a fifth deck from the top8 available (John Chinnock, Aggro Necro, the deck was on the dojo, with some decks that "performed well" in standard even though they didn't make it to the top8 because of poor results in extended)
Awesome, thanks!

* Pro Tour Paris 1997 (the Blood Drain decks from Henning Rimkus & Sturla Bingen are not the actual lists, just wild guesses I made from the forums)
I only have Darwin Kastle's and Mike Long's decks from this Pro Tour. Thanks for the full disclosure on Rimkus & Bingen :)

I see you have some of the old Pro Tour top 8 decks I'm missing, which is great! :)

I haven't tried gathering the Grand Prix decklists.

My initial thought was to replace "legendary decks" in their history. That's why I'm trying to recollect decklists from Grand Prix as well, because we all know Trix and Jar.dec, and they were played at these GP's.

Plus it was fun to see a Counter Sliver deck arriving 2nd, defeating those neat combo decks !

For the Pro Tours I think I did my best to recollect all I could, too, but there are a lot less PT's than GP's so it's faster.

For the worlds, I'm sure there are videos available, or old magazines where we could have at least a hint of what the other guys played, but then I don't know how to search for it, though I'm sure there's a guy out there who kept every magazine and who's waiting to help ! :)

ZeSword uncovered decklists for 2 previously unforged World Championship decks:

1997: [5-8] John Chinnock - Beatdown Necro.
1995: [5-8] Andrea Redi - Pre-Sligh.

Also, I have added all forgeable sideboards to decks that previously lacked them.

Is it possible that the names can include the formats when tournaments contain multiple formats played? It'd be nice to more quickly be able to grab just all of the standard decks, or all of the modern decks when sorting outside of Forge.

Like any good programmer will tell you, anything is possible...

I would personally much prefer adding metadata to the .dck file rather than adding information to the name (of the deck? of the file?). In a perfect world we could have the format, relevant date, event, deck builder, player, etc. as part of the metadata of the file and be able to sort/filter/play random decks conforming to a selected filter.

This would provide the functionality you're looking for (without learning grep - even windows explorer supports searching the contents of a file), although perhaps not in the precise way you'd prefer.

I'm not averse to changing the way I do things to help out other people, and if lots of people (or even just 3 or 4) prefer adding the format to the file name I can do that, but I think my idea is more robust, extensible, and just plain better.

We do have a tags and comment metadata field? I'm not sure those fields are used inside Forge, but you can at least have some additional data with them?

Maybe adding the format as a tag could be sufficient. I wonder if there'd be a good way to add the Format so it would be meaningful over time. (Perhaps by including the date of the most recent B/R list for that format)

Here are the 2016 World Championship decks with format included as metadata. There aren't really many ways to do this, but look it over anyway :)
