What is "infinite duels"?

Postby Rawky » 14 Apr 2016, 03:30

I see "infinite duels" referenced in here and several times elsewhere, but I can't find what it refers to. What is it exactly?

This :

Basically a duel mode with Shandalar cards outside the game, very useful mode in order to test cards and decks without having to modify a savegame/campaign.

You just have to make a windows shortcut with command line and you are good to go like this:

or like this

The only way to exit this mode which repeat itself once the game ended is to alt+f4

Keep in mind that in order for this to work, you seem to have to have an in-shandalar saved game. Not sure why, but it wouldn't work for me on a clean install and was telling me that it failed loading a saved game and closing.

When I found this bug I thought it was the most random bit of nonsense ever, but then I read the tracking entry and the +1/+1 counters thing made me lol.

I got another one, in the same vein, or I'm being stupid somehow. I used to test decks by giving the AI one deck, and myself random decks. I seem to only be able to give either myself of the AI specific decks, not designate a folder.

Does anyone have a clear example of the exact syntax they used to sucessfully give themselves or the computer "random deck from folder" like I used to? So I can see if it's a bug or I'm doing something wrong, please?

"shandalar -e decks" gives both you and the AI random decks from the decks/ subtree. "shandalar -e decks/0021.dck -p decks" gives the AI decks/0021.dck each duel, and you a random one.

Thank you that worked, and could someone pls remind me how you turn the console on to see the enemy hand? I had it written down somewhere but lost it, and this thread is worth stickying as info anyway and that's an important bit of info for anyone testing decks.

Btw - thrilled that the enemies can mulligan, can't wait to test it out and see what they keep and stuff.

Ah, this doesn't seem to be working for some reason. I thought my f12 key might be messed up so I plugged in an external keyboard, even, but it didn't help.

Don't I have to enable it some .ini somewhere first?

EDIT: Found it, it's in Shandalar.ini have to set the value of Enable Debug Moge to 1, another thing you need to do on a clean install. :)
