Future of my MWS masterbase

As you remember my masterbase has lost tokens and vanguard cards. Be prepared that some of the promos will be lost too. It's a forced choice. My first priority now is Magic Album. Primary database is changing to support advanced features of Magic Album. Due to several incompatibilities some promos may be lost too (though some new promos may appear). Be prepared.

Mostly promo cards labeled with version number. Versions will be changed from numbers to text string. Small example. Look into FNM set. "Forest 1", "Forest 2", "Forest 3", etc. After upgrade they'll be labeled something like "Forest 1994", "Forest 1995". Numerical version number is good for ordinary basic lands but bad for promos.

Is there a good reason for me to switch from Magic Workstation to Magic Album? I mostly use MWS/MWSPlay to play friends over the net. It appears if I wanted to use Magic Album, I would have to re-organize all my pics (I use Clefaria's MWS bundle), and then would the pics not show up in MWSPlay?

MA is a program for collectors. If you just play over net - keep using MWS.

GH's base has become the standard and the MWS devs quit making their own. Someone else is going to have to pick up the mantle. If GH makes his base entirely incompatible then who knows what will happen, since there are other apps that depend on it too.

Regardless, everyone has been warned, spread the word.

Well GH at least can you tell us what do you use for make the masterbase? im interesting in keep the masterbase with all cards complete (as any1 can see in pics promo thread and in other posts)

But no idea on how to add once again Vanguard or future duel decks and From the vault sets and normal new sets in a future thanks

I have one big database in MS Access format. It is used to generate all other dabatases (MA, MWS, PocketMTG, etc.) using custom software.

Several days ago there was huge promo update. MA users already have access to it. MWS users will see it in my next MWS db.

Are promos the only part of the MWS base to be affected, or are you just not going to make it anymore? In other words, will you keep improving it with each new set release? Promos don't really matter for playing online using MWS but new sets do.
