trouble installing launcher

i am having a difficult time installing the launcher. it does not install the server or client launcher.
i use an hp desktop, with 64 bit version of windows 7

When you follow the guide here, where do you run into an issue, and what are you seeing for the issue?

at starting. there is no client or server launcher, and nothing to actually launch the program

I'm also having troubles getting anywhere trying to install this. I've downloaded java and the xmage launcher. I attempt to run the .jar file and a window opens and closes in a matter of about an eighth of a second. Then nothing else happens. No error messages or anything.

Edit: Ended up just downloading the launcher directly. Everything's all good now.
