A bigger, better travel window
by daitokujibiko » 10 Dec 2017, 18:54
This was my idea a few months back. I started to work on it, but it was around the time Forge was moving its codebase over, and so after I had set up Eclipse properly I lost my chance to update.
Basically I think it would be cool if the travel window displayed a bit more info about the world you're traveling to in quest mode. This is because like a lot of people I have no idea what each world is usually just by reading its name, what sets it encompasses, what years it was part of standard etc. It would require writing a little more info in world.txt, but not very much.
Here's the general idea of what I was thinking:
I already got some ways into it. I updated the world.txt reader class to expect the new information and dipped my toes into changing the UI code (this is only on my local copy of Forge), but basically I'm kind of too busy to work on it or try to set up Eclipse again. I encourage anyone else to give it a go if they think it's a good idea. I think something such as this would be an awesome edition to quest mode.
