I recently had to do a system recovery on my computer. I've tried to download and install XMage and am having no luck in said endeavor. I have the newest version of java. I download the installer and run it. A command window flashes for a brief second and then nothing. I've opened the command prompt window and used the java -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar command and it gives me the error message, Error: Unable to access jarfile XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar. What am I doing wrong and where do I go from here?

Try to reinstall java from oracle site. After that you can launch xmage. If can't then create command file in launch folder (like run.cmd) and add to it "javaw.exe -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar".

Or you can open command line and run command:

1. Go to xmage folder:
Code: Select all
cd /d "D:\Games\xmage"
2. Run launcher:
Code: Select all
javaw.exe -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar

I can't play, how can i do?

You need switch current version from beta to release: go to launcher, settings menu and select branch to "stable".

I've used XMage for years without ever running into problems, but now all of a sudden, after I didn't run XMage for about a week, I run into an error in the launcher.

Looks like a problem with the local database. Try to delete all files in "..\mage-client\db" folder, restart app and reconnect to local or other server -- card's db will be recreated.

I was playing with a lot of lag today, so i decided to stop for a couple of hours, when i came back i got this error telling me that this file can be open "Xmage\java\jre1.8.0_131\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg'", and it wont do anything else. I hope you can help me fix this.

Delete and re-install java on your machine. After that delete `java` folder in launcher and update xmage again. More info with other links to stackoverflow is here.

Probably the oldest problem in the book

im trying to download the new version but the moment i press update its not even trying at all to download

like it froze the moment i hit update.

I've tried restarting my pc, re-updating, deleting the whole xmage folder and installing from scratch.

JRE is updated.

Issue has been fixed, i tied deleting the xmage folder and re installing after a day or two and it worked.

Please ignore my last post.

I have problems to reinstall XMage, luncher and "StartMage" cann't find the Javafolder....

(i had to cut the urls from the protocol "to spamy")

i cann't realy explain what happend, but @work i can reinstall XMage!? gives there a logic to (re)install it only in the network were i installed it the first time???
Sounds for me like f*** Bullshit :) ... but shit happens, now it works....
