could we have a 93-95 magic mod ?
by Frenchmanphysio711 » 15 Oct 2017, 17:30
you guys did awsome work by making this playable again.
Would it be possible to create a "old school" (93-95) manalink database with only cards from these sets.
ABU, arabian nights, antiquities, the dark, falken empire and ice age.
This format us gaining alot of popularity with old players. (when i played magic without sleeved cards...and had hair).
i am aware that microprose shandalar has a hard cap of approx. 500 cards so we would only need the staple of the format into the main database and we could custom our own database if we would like to add any "dark horses" of older sets.
mod has to include the older/original picture of the all the cards exclusively. (nostalgic factor) and if possible a different manalink intereface or option selection "93-95 magic" for online versus real opponents (one that dosn't attack blindly into a unactive mishra's factory).
this way alot of the older magic community could enjoy this format without spending 100 000 $
thanks again fir your work

Sorry, but internet play is heavily bugged for many years making it unplayable.
If you want to have the mod for shandalar play (adventure part of the game), there is configuration in shandalar.ini to exclude the sets you don't want to play with.(Of course that is possible if you have a shandalar version with that feature enabled).
For internet play you can try xmage application.

That is not what I meant.
Could I have a breakthrough of how to add/personalize the deck builder card selection. I would like my "deckbuilder" available card to be ABU, arabian night, antiquities, Legends and the dark
OR I wish to add the following cards:
Mana drain
Hell's Caretaker
power artifact
chains of Mephisto...
recall
sol'kanar swamp king

Which version or update of Manalink or shandalar do you have? Are you interested in shandalar (adventure part) or Manalink (duels, gauntlet, draft etc) or both?
I am confused because the cards you want to add are in manalink for ages. It seems you have the MTG iso 2010.
Except Land's Edge which hasn't been coded.

@BUtch711 I only play 93/94 with manalink 3.0 and old manalink2.0
Just do dthe following in manalink 3.0
1)Go to the deck builder.
2)DO right click on the first icon and a submenu appears "Torunament formats/expansions" (clik over it)
3)select the 93/94 formats.. from alpha to dark and check the "enable filter" box
thats all
And yes.. I miss lands edge too!!

Yes I have Iso 2010. On an older laptop and recently got an itch for 93/94 Magic.
Now how do I update ? I would like to stay with manalink 2.o and just update the remaining legends/Dark cards
could anybody attach the link tom their reply.
Thanks in advance
Is Golden age 2.0 compatible (without the richard garfield "rules" avatar)? and to whomever did the golden age series - great job!!

I dont know if there is an update or mod available for manalink 2.0 including complete sets of legends/dark. Maybe someone did a mod in the previous years before manalink 3.0 but Im not sure.
Having these cards in ML2.0 would be great if you plan to play using TCP/IP against others.
Anyway... the 93/04 format is really playable in Manalink 3.0. Just enable filters in the deck editor to show only the 93/94 decks.. and also you need to remove manually all the new card artwork (New pics for vintage cards like the new sol ring art... etc). There are some cards bugged like drain life.. but I hope that will be fixed in a future ML3.0 release-
