Forge: 05/08/2018 ver 1.6.10
Desktop: https://releases.cardforge.org/forge/forge-gui-desktop/1.6.10/forge-gui-desktop-1.6.10.tar.bz2
Dominaria is here! Can't make it to Pre-release? Don't have enough money to play all weekend? Supplement with Forge!
Forge now requires Java 8 (or newer). You will not be able to start the game if you are not yet running Java 8.
We have a Discord server for hanging out with Forge devs and other Forge fans. Feel free to jump on in and say hi!
Online Multiplayer is once again functional!
Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.
Images for the latest sets will be available soon.
Online multiplayer functionality has been restored, but is still a Work in Progress. We do have a dedicated developer actively working on the online multiplayer feature.
Other known issues are here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-developers/forge/issues
Feel free to report your own there if you have any.
The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.
- The Mac OS application version -
We haven't been able to distribute the OS X Application version of Forge in sometime. We've recently automated our release tools, and will continue to look in the viability of creating this file now that things are autoamted.
- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

Rules issue with commander right now: As it stands when someone casts Ixalan's Binding on a commander and the player chooses to put it in the Command Zone, the binding still stops the player from casting their commander which it should not.
From the Gatherer Rulings:
If there is no exiled card (perhaps because the exiled permanent was a token or was a commander that moved to the command zone in the Commander variant), Ixalan's Binding won’t stop players from casting spells.

Is there something about Jodah, Archmage Eternal that aggravates forge's memory problems? I have yet to finish a commander game with him as my commander, despite several tries - the game just crawls to a halt. Anyone else experiencing this?

Game slowing down experienced on all kinds of global and static effectsgos wrote:Is there something about Jodah, Archmage Eternal that aggravates forge's memory problems? Some kind of flickering occurs on all affected permanents when abilities are added like:
Painters servants colour change - heavy performance impact
Elspeth knight errants ultimate - heavy Performance decrease
Ghostly prison - medium Performance decrease
Could be if u take a look at the by jodah added alternate casting cost that its flickering on affected non lands aswell
I experience those Performance issues on an !2,3 ghz! huawei m3 tablet with !4 gb ram!
And on a huawei p8 lite 2017
And using my Desktop which runs it smoothly nevertheless all that flickering which still feeds on the desktops ressources quiet a bit

In this release when I cast "In Bolas's Clutches", I gain control of the target permanent (in the tests so far a creature) and while I can use it to block I cannot use it to attack. Replicated every time I've cast it so far. This was not the behavior in the previous release.

I cast Blood Sun, but my opponent's Islands enchanted by Barbed Field continued tapping to deal damage to me. Is that correct? I cast the Blood Sun after the Barbed Field.

In the brawl format, The AI attacked while I had Shalai, Voice of Plenty on the battlefield. Then I got an error report and the game crashed. I'm not sure exactly what causes them, but all the crashes I've had lately seem to have Shalai as the common factor.

Scenario:
Opponent's turn.
I cast a draw card instant.
The first card I get is Devastation Tide
Forge asks me: "Devastation Tide - Miracle. Use triggered ability of devastation Tide?"
If I say yes and pay for it, Forge let me cast a sorcery and it is not my turn. Is that right? Does miracle work that way?

That's how miracle works. If it was your turn and you drew your first card during your draw step it would also not allow you to cast sorcery speed spells.correioalternativo wrote:Scenario:

Soul Ransom seems to be causing shenanigans. I just used a 2/2 creature enchanted with one to block a 2/3 and it survived combat without any additional tricks from me. Also, the same creature still has summoning sickness multiple turns later.

I stole my opponent's Windbrisk Heights with Dream Leash. Now almost every phase we each get an extra copy of the Windbrisk Heights effect in our command zones. (So 20 or so turns later, we have hundreds of them...)
