2012 version?

I seem to come back here every few years and am greatly saddened to read that Korath's work is now gone. However, I'd still like to play Shandalar and from what I read that means either the 2010 version or the 2012 version.

The 2010 torrent isn't working for me (though my VPN might be to blame for that, I'll play with it some more), and I can't find a link for the 2012 version. Is that still available?

Well that's a link to a list of links for Korath's patches, but all of those patches have been removed.

The 2012 version was just something that I read about... and I can't find it now. I had thought that it was just an update to the 2010 version. That's okay, the 2010 version should be fine if I can get it to download. And I can't. I can't connect to any of the trackers, and I've fiddled with my VPN at this point to no avail.

Could anyone confirm that the torrent is working? It would be nice to know whether this is a problem on my end or not.

The torrent is working just fine. Are you sure your vpn allows torrents? You use a program to download torrents like uTorrent right?

I'm using KTorrent, and yes my VPN allows torrents. I just downloaded a linux distro to verify. I've also tried it by turning the VPN off, but no change.

The problem seems to be that all of the trackers are gone - openbittorrent, demonoid, h33t, and h3q are all giving me 404s. (Well, demonoid is a redirect.) The only one that seems to work is thepiratebay, but I still can't connect to their tracker for some reason.

I've enabled DHT, which wasn't enabled before, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything either. I don't know how long that takes though. "DHT: 0 nodes, 0 tasks" it says.

My IP filter is off... I can't think of anything else I can do here.

I don't use vpn so I don't know how it works. I only have to click on the torrent file and select open with utorrent and works like a charm.

Okay, I got it. It seems to be a problem with KTorrent, when I tried with qBittorrent everything went fine.

I don't know why KTorrent isn't working, that annoys me, but there you are. Thanks for the help. (The trackers aren't working in qBittorrent either, but DHT is.)
