Game resolution

Postby Draggamor » 21 Aug 2015, 11:22

Is there a way to introduce resolution change in the game, or an option to play it windowed?

I know this is not a priority, but it bothers me that now an then the game is changing my Windows resolution after exiting (from 1280x800 to 1024x768)

Does it revert back to your original resolution or keep it to 1024x768 after closing the game?

I know that crashing the game will make it stay at 1024x768 but if you properly exit (right click on the map > exit), it will revert back to original resolution (from 1920x1080).

Yup there is an option in shandalar.ini to keep your current resolution and smallcard size. If you change the smallcard size use 120. That is what I use on my 1920x1080 screen. Also the shandalar.ini for the resolution I think if u use a 1 or 2 it will become a window. But it is not sizeable at the moment. Shandalars resolution corrupts at anything over 1024x768 which is why it is still running at that resolution. But u can have a window of it if you like.
can I maze of ith your snowstorm?

It actually is a priority. It's been a primary goal of my project from the start. This post is still up-to-date with respect to getting the game running completely at higher resolution.

While the windowing options in Shandalar.ini (which you've already been pointed to) are more recent, they have major drawbacks, as described there. They'll also never be more than a temporary stepping stone - I have no particular desire to go to the trouble of getting Deckbuilder to run in the main Shandalar window, for example, or getting all of Duel's subwindows inside it, unless it happens to be convenient to do so on the way to getting the game fully functional at high res.

Hi. Which Shandalar install? Are you starting a new game during the session? On the stock-ish versions of Shandalar those character creation screens wonk out the graphics. I can usually limp through them, get the game saved, exit and re-launch to Load Game.

The 2015 tree eventually gets an .INI that allows for graphics tweaks. But that option isn't in the early version still posted.

For compatibility settings (right-click shandalar.exe, --> properties), I have nicer results overriding high dpi scaling/let scaling be performed by app.
