Good to hear you have another release made and most of all that you are well I guess so there is time for hobbies. :D
Your signature still points however to Dreamwalkers 4.1 download and no link in this post, yet.

You are right about the signature, it is updated.
I added a download link to the post.
I am interested on feedback about the design changes. ;)
I am also having a look at Mad Wizard to get an updated release.

Dreamwalkers 6.1 is available. Download is at the top.
The number of fragment templates is shown in the intro panel.
There are 68 minion templates, 16 effect templates and 7 weapon templates.
From these templates there are over 17000 possible random variations.

Although I have played this before (not lately though) and because your minions by design have at least 2 abilities (at least so far I haven't met any with 1 ability or none ) and from those creatures I encountered abilities can go up to 8 abilities more? it is really hard to have all this in mind while playing the game.
I am always stopping to look at help what each ability does. For me tools-tip rules text for abilities would be a great feature and if that is too much work then maybe make help open in a separate window that can be customizable.

Also IMHO the design to be able play so powerful creatures in your first turn by paying the most = 3 is subtracting from the game play overall but I haven't played many games. Unfortunately I don't have so much time as years before as I kind of develop (copy/paste mostly) for manalink the last couple of years so free time goes there.

In the few games I have played I always had 1 such creature starting the game and AI didn't have 1 or didn't play one it on first turn one time only so maybe have fewer such creatures/spells per deck created?

Thanks for the feedback!

Adding more interactive help is a good suggestion.
Balancing the generated decks using resource cost should also help.

I limit the number of triggered abilities to 3.
There can be one static ability, like "Minions you control get +1 attack".
There can be one activated ability, like "2 : +2 attack this turn".
The number of keyword abilities is not really limited.
The minion sub type is also first in the keyword ability list.

The new resource system limits how much can be done instead of when.
It makes turns more equal and it is a symmetric advantage.
It is possible to play the best minions the first turn.
But for the same cost, three 1 cost minions can also be played.
Or some kind of removal can be kept open for the next turn.
I lost several times when going all in on first turn, no guarantees. :D
I do play the game with at least 50 starting life to avoid a quick ending.

Typical game. 22 turns. Very close, opponent won with drain. Look at the filled waste. :roll:

Using the deck strength calculator tool might help to get balanced decks.
It plays no less than 321 consecutive AI games.

43 turns. Lost with empty library. Waste contains nearly entire deck. :shock:

There is a deadlock issue in the UI that can cause the UI to freeze.
The problem is sensitive to the deck composition. This will be fixed in next release.

Current statistics :
  • minions = 73
  • effects = 17
  • weapons = 8
  • variations = 18818

Game lasted 49 turns without freezing. Before it could freeze as soon as turn 1.

No maximum hand size but be careful not to draw too much cards. :D

Dreamwalkers 6.4

This is the result of a fun experiment. 8)
This release was made by doing only file manipulations using the jar of Dreamwalkers 6.3 and 7.2.
A jar file is basically a zip file so it is very easy to manipulate.
Enjoy. :D

What is modified?
  • Changed the theme
  • Updated the foil layers
  • Copied new fragment code from release 7.2
  • Changed the fragment layout
  • Put version information in help text
