Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.
Known issues are here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-developers/forge/issues
Feel free to report your own there if you have any.
The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.
- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.
- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

A very little issue.

Issue with Crumbling Colossus: at the end of its attack, it wasn't sacrificed.
The warning about its sacrifice did appear on the stack, but the card stayed on the battlefield during all the match.

The auto-updater for said 1.6.44 was available, and it downloads a compressed file named "1.6.44-upgrade.tar" but upon uncompressing, the executable jar file is "forge-gui-desktop-1.6.36-jar-with-dependencies" which for all intents and purposes is version 1.6.36. This has happened the last several updates. When updating, I click the "release" button as opposed to "snapshot," is that the problem? I don't have a problem redownloading the latest version each time, but it would be much more convenient to update without accidentally downdating.

It seems First Response is not working. I was attacked, took combat damage, but got no token the next turn.
Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.

Hi guys! Thanks for the new amazing release!
Please tell me how to completly disable some cards/sets in Forge? Some of them are really badly. For example, I wish no see any cards from AFR set in deck editor, in AI opponent draft hand and as random art on reprint cards. Seems we can manually fix "editions" files, but in this way AFR cards moves in Set named "Other" and maybe it will led to crashes, not sure.

Hi everyone! I found solution for my issue.
We can completely disable AFR set follow by steps:
0) Make backup
1) Delete AFR line in res/blockdata/blocks.txt
2) Delete AFR edition file res/editions/Dungeons & Dragons Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.txt
3) Delete all AFR uniq cards (no reprints) in res/cardsfolder/cardsfolder.zip

cat cardsname.lst | while read i; do find -type f -name $i -delete; done;

Ok. I'v"e encountered something bizarre and I don't know if it's normal. So, opponent plays Meteor Golem on my Batterskull, I recall my Batterskull before Meteor Golem has the time to destroy it then put it back while the effect of the golem is still here. When my Batterskull re-enter the field, the effect of the golem automatically re-target the Batterskull, so I have call it back once again, wait for the golem's effect to take place, then put my Batterskull in play.
Should the Meteor Golem be able to automatically re-target the Battserkull in this instance?

I used the autoupdate feature in forge and it's updating me to 1.6.36. I did a screen grab to show what's going on.

Hello everyone.
I was using an old version of Forge which crashed when i used "shared animosity" card
I downloaded this one, and it stays freezed at the "Loading quest" step.
I don't know how to see the debug info directly from the program execution, so i downloaded the java project and built it myself, there i had some issues running it, i found a stackoverflow post(i can't show the link here) adressing these errors that suggested a workarround adding the following arguments to the VM options:
--add-opens java.base/java.util=ALL-UNNAMED
--add-opens java.base/java.lang.reflect=ALL-UNNAMED
--add-opens java.base/java.text=ALL-UNNAMED
--add-opens java.desktop/java.awt.font=ALL-UNNAMED
After i added the mentioned arguments to the JVM, the program ran correcty. Any ideas?

One little suggestion: the way City of Brass is used automatically before any other land that could produce the same type of mana should be changed, I think it would be better for City of Brass to be used as a last resort only. I just lost because Forge kept tapping automatically that land when I had a lot of other lands that would have done the same, even though I had only 1 life left. True, I did it for testing purpose, but it's pretty bad nonetheless.
For example, when you have like 4 or 3 life left, you have to manually tap a Brushland, or an Adarkar Wastes, or a Skyshroud Forest for it to produce a colored mana, because Forge won't be able to do it automatically. But if you have a City of Brass, Forge will use it every time, even if you have only 1 life left.
