A new game mode is now available as a separate executable - Forge Adventure, a Shandalar-like overworld adventure. This game mode is currently in its early stage of development, expect improvements and fixes in the future releases.
Forge now supports 100% of core and expansion set cards from Limited Edition Alpha to Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. This includes Equinox, Chaos Orb, and Falling Star.
Planar Conquest now features a new plane - Forgotten Realms, based on the AFR and AFC sets.
Several planes are now available in Planar Conquest in their Classic form, as originally intended by the author, without support for the newer sets and with the original events not modified with newer cards. These planes are available in addition to the contemporary versions of the planes and are marked as "Classic".
Sound sets are now configurable - you can place your sound sets under "sound" in your Forge cache (as subfolders) and then select them with the "Sound set" option.
Music sets are now configurable - you can place your music sets under "music" in your Forge cache (as subfolders) and then select them with the "Music set" option. The music set folder must have the same structure as "res/music", with "match" and "menus" subfolders containing relevant music tracks.
*** Android 7 & 8 support is now deprecated. Support will be dropped in an upcoming release. ***

Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.

Known issues are here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-developers/forge/issues
Feel free to report your own there if you have any.

The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.
- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.
- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

Thanks for the great work, everyone!
Unfortunately, I seem to be getting an error when I try to launch this version (this also was happening with the last few snapshot builds I tried.) It says "This application requires a Java runtime environment 11.0.1."
I downloaded the latest version of Java fairly recently, and it was working fine on all the snapshot builds up until 11/9 or so. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this? I'm a little hesitant to just install stuff willy nilly since I don't want to risk breaking the previous version I still can run.
In the past I've always just been able to overwrite the files in the existing Forge folder when I unzip it into the existing folder with 7Zip and it worked fine, again, up until 11/9.
EDIT: Never mind; I just installed the SDK and that fixed it. Probably should have just tried that first before whining on the boards.

For anyone who has no idea what's being talked about and is getting the "This application requires a Java runtime environment 11.0.1." error, go here and download the file that corresponds to your machine.

So I noticed the majority of cards from Crimson Vow are not usable in Forge because they are in the Upcoming folder. The only times I can use such cards are when I use a Snapshot version for Forge, but when using a regular version, the Upcoming folder is useless. So I moved them in their corresponding folders and now I can use them. But I wonder, why are they there if there's already an edition file for Crimson Vow in the 1.6.46? From what I've seen, everything works fine...

Foreboding Ruins don't check if you have a mountain or a swamp in your hand and enters always tapped, even if you have a swamp or a mountain in your hand.

Hello everyone.
First of all, congrats for the incredible progress with the old cards. Amazing.
I have to report an extremely weird issue though.
Forge, for no reason, seems to keep "forgetting" that I do have the pics for the KTK and M15 sets.
They're all regularly in the folder.
I tried deleting the KTK folder and put the mid-res cards in again, nothing.
So I deleted it and downloaded the low-res versions via downloader, and they appeared again in Forge.
Then I overwrote them all with a bulk copy, without altering the directory, and to my surprise I got to see the mid-res versions in Forge again, too.
BUT.
I did the same for the M15 folder, in order to fix that as well... and the KTK cards went "missing" again.
Now I see M15 cards in forge, but not the KTK ones.
I am at a loss.
Any ideas?

New Blood doesn't change the chosen type to vampire even if you get the control of the creature. If you gain control of an Angel, for example, and chose "angel", even if you control the creature it still be an angel, not a vampire.

It is the same with Choked Estuary, it doesn't check if you have a swamp or an island in hand and enters always tapped. I suppose that happens then with all this set of lands.Alastor wrote:Foreboding Ruins don't check if you have a mountain or a swamp in your hand and enters always tapped, even if you have a swamp or a mountain in your hand.

You may prefer not to do that since it messes up both text and graphics in some (all?) desktop machines.votan wrote:For anyone who has no idea what's being talked about and is getting the "This application requires a Java runtime environment 11.0.1." error, go here and download the file that corresponds to your machine.
I just couldn't use Forge that way, and since I've found no way to fix it, I've reverted to Java 8.

One problem I noticed with Lier, Disciple of the Drowned: I tried to cast a Jwari Disruption with flashback, but although Jawri Disruption was indeed exiled, the AI didn't have to pay anything and its spell was played normally.
Edit: it's impossible to reveal a Swamp/Forest when Necroblossom Snarl enters the battlefield, so it always enters tapped. It might be the same for the other dual lands from Strixhaven.
