Just played Empty the Warrens as my only spell, but got no gobbo's at all.
There's something strange with the pop-up for Thoughtseize. First you get to see compy's complete hand and get to choose a card. When you click OK, you get to take another look, though all lands are removed now. You choose again and this time the card is discarded. Is this supposed to be this way?

Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.

I realized this also, I'll see if I can move it to right before that instead.Marek14 wrote:Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be right - players get a chance to play effects between declaration of attackers and blockers, would this happen before they get a chance to do that? You should check the triggers a bit sooner.DennisBergkamp wrote:I think I figured out how to do the triggered checks on "Whenever ... attacks" in one go. I just check it right at the beginning of the Declare Blockers phase... (before blockers are actually declared though). This would also take into account planeswalker attackers.
I also see Triadasoul added Knotvine Paladin, in the current way forge works that card is bugged, since it will only check once (if you attack with it first, and then assign more attackers, it will still keep the bonus even though at that point there might not even be a single untapped creature).
But with the check happening at the end, that issue should be resolved as well, and cards like Goblin Piledriver can be added
If this works, could you make exalted a true triggered ability?
And yes, after I get that working, I should be able to fix Exalted, which is very hacky right now. Also, if spells or abilities remove a bunch of attackers until a single one is left, that single attacker wouldn't get exalted bonuses anymore.

I'm not sure about Empty the Warrens (I don't think it ever worked correctly).indicatie wrote:Just played Empty the Warrens as my only spell, but got no gobbo's at all.

But as for Thoughtseize, this is something I've added a release or two ago. I did something similar with cards like Ostracize, Duress, etc., I first show the entire hand, then I show a narrowed down list of options that actually can be discarded. I did this because oftentimes when casting Duress, NOTHING would happen (even though the AI would have 5 or 6 cards in hand - they all must have been lands/creatures), and also it's incorrect: these cards have to reveal the opponent's hand.
Now, I also realize this is not the best solution, as freestorageaccount pointed out a few posts ago, it can really mess with the flow of the game since it pops up an extra (unexpected) window. But what to do instead?
Another possibility would be to show the entire hand, and then have the choice discarded (provided it's a legal choice). If it was an illegal choice (a creature or land card in case of Duress) it would show the list again, provided there are legal choices. If there are no legal choices, the game would just continue.

How about showing the whole hand, but graying out the illegal choices? They would still be visible, but you couldn't select them.
The OK button would be grayed out until you select a legal choice, or right away in case there is no legal choice.

During the deck construction part of quests, when you change filters, cards that have been put into your deck are put back into the available card pool. This means that, if your changing filters, you can duplicate cards that you should have only one of.

Kor Cartographer's ability has no text on stack.
Minor point - first ability of Umezawa's Jitte can't be used when it's not equipped (it's usually pointless to do it, unless you have a way to attach it to something before the ability resolves, but it's legal).
Major point - Umezawa's Jitten doesn't get counters when the equipped creature deals damage to a planeswalker.

Couple of bugs I think might be related to what you said regarding the new combat system, but I guess it's still worth reporting:
A pumped Twinblade Slasher attacked Ajani Goldmane, into my Skullclamp 'd Silver Knight. First Strike means it should have killed the Slasher and survived, but for some reason that didn't happen. This bug is kinda old actually; First Strike and Planeswalker Combat don't seem to go well together.
Also, fresh from Quest Mode, I attacked with my Serra Avenger into Muscle Sliver and Winged Sliver. I assigned 2 damage to the Muscle Sliver and 1 damage to the Winged Sliver, meaning both should die after combat damage resolved, but Winged Sliver survived as a 1/1 with 1 damage on it.

I just was playing Forge 11-25 with the new deck filtering option.
If you are editing a deck in quest mode and use the filters you can add any number of a card to your deck by turning a filter on an off.

Not sure if I posted about this before as it would have been quite awhile ago if I had, but when a card is discarded from the hand with a Necropotence in play, it should go into the removed from game pile and not the graveyard.

Imperial Recruiter - allows Radiant, Archangel as one of the options to pull from deck (has Power 3)
Aether Membrane - Blocked creatures don't return to owner's hand at end of combat.

I'll look at some of these issues and see if I can fix them.
Not sure what's going on with AEther Membrane, I remember testing this and bouncing creatures back to the opponent's hand (and vice versa, getting my own creats bounced back by the AI). Can anyone else confirm this bug ?

Just tested this on both sides, too, and it seems to work fine. Maybe you have an older version of Forge, Xzarf? The problem seems fixed in the 12/14 version.DennisBergkamp wrote:I'll look at some of these issues and see if I can fix them.

Actually, I suspect these have always existed.Vecc wrote:Couple of bugs I think might be related to what you said regarding the new combat system, but I guess it's still worth reporting:

The First Strike bug will be trickier to fix, but I managed to fix the second bug (I just do another check for state based effects).

Yeah, I had definitely seen the first bug before, but wasn't too sure about the second. Went too long without playing. :/DennisBergkamp wrote:Actually, I suspect these have always existed.

Well, another smaller issue. If you swing for lethal damage and the AI blocks with two creatures, you'll still get the "Assign Damage" prompt after the battle is over, at the "You Win" screen. Doesn't really harm anyone but it's still weird.
Also, my quest Deck Editor takes MUCH more time to open than the regular one. Does this have anything to do with the size of your pool (5200 here, incase it matters)? Can something be done about it? It's kind of frustrating, takes a good 20~25 seconds to come up. Am I the only one with this problem?
