degraded performance

I've read somewhere here that Forge's performance degrades as you play it too much with pictures.
I think it was regarding something related to heap size. So, could increasing -Xms and -Xmx help this problem?

It won't really improve performance. However, if done correctly, it will prevent Heap Space error crashes from happening.
You will most likely only need to increase the memory when using HQ pictures.

I have 1 GB of RAM in my computer and I don't notice any performance issues with HQ pictures at this point. And my computer has issues already, so this would definitely be noticeable.

I'm noticing that performance degrades as the game progresses.
I thought at first that this might have to do with the number of cards in play, but if the number of cards drastically reduces, performace doesn't seem to improve.
As the game moves on, everything takes WAY more time. It'll take 20+ seconds to select the target of a spell or tap the required mana for a spell or ability.
Are there any fixes for this?

I've found the new GUI unplayable due to the slowdowns. Try turning the new GUI off ("New Gui" checkbox for the constructed/sealed/booster draft games and "New GUI" checkbox for the games in the quest mode) and see if that helps; however, you are stuck with the new GUI against the quest opponents in the quest mode.

This has been changed in a recent update to our SVN.

I too do not seem to notice much in the way of performance hits when playing Forge, unless I have a number of other programs running or if I have a Conspiracy in play.

I agree.

`- Quest assignments use the same gui as set for quest matches.
- Opponent game area is mirrored.
- Tokens with the same name stack even if they have different P/T in new gui.
There is a lot of work taking place on the project at this time. It is hard to predict when we will be ready to release the next beta.

I love the new interface, but I get bogged down so bad, I had to stop using it too.
