Problem with messages screen

1) The messages icon is not themeable
2) The log eventually runs off the page. I should be able to select it and scroll up and down, but right now it is only a poor, non-interactive popup.

There is icon_message, which takes a 24x24 icon.

Thanks. Is there a way to view the whole log when it gets too long?
