I personally don't have a tablet, but I have a phone, so I'll do my best for smaller screens compatibility, but we need to re-think some of the interface components for that. Working on it :)

Correct.
I tried the port on my HTC Desire HD, and it works the same, but most of the controls are too small for a really good experience. It's still playable, but frustrating compared to the experience on a tablet. I don't know how much we will improve this for the first release.

It's quite amazing already you managed to stuff a magic interface into a PSP.
For forge, we probably shouldn't even bother trying to get it working on a phone, a tablet should be possible though.

If someone succeeded in making Forge completely UI-independent, then we could think about an Android option.. until then, Wagic will be the dominant force in mobile Magic apps.

I think that forge would be great on an iPad. The next iPad might double the screen resolution. Imagine HQ card pics. :)

has to be done at least to some extent for minimax anyway. :?

but seriously, the DS has, what, 4MB of ram? that would be a real problem. hmm, maybe it would be ok if we took out the deck editors. i think alexAG76 is planning a generic virtual tabletop for the device. for human to human play.

The PSP has 24MB of Ram. Wagic's binary itself takes 4MB, the database of cards is close to 6MB, the runtime structures require between 3 and 5MB, and the rest is used by the image cache.

Wagic is optimized for a fairly low memory environment (24MB is really not a lot, and technically Wagic could run fine with 20MB), but the NDS is much more of a challenge. All card cannot be loaded at the same time, you couldn't fit card pictures in Ram easily (we have a way to use tinycrops on the PSP though, each of them, with enough optimization, could be 64kB in ram), etc...

not mentioning the double screens which make it extremely difficult to actually display a card... maybe holding the NDS vertically ?

Says Chris, who owns a mac
It's too bad though, since the iPad / iPhone doesn't run java... I'm pretty sure the next generation of Android (Samsung/Motorola?) tablets will also have the retina display the iPad3 will have (I'm personally waiting for one of those... Forge would look and play amazing on a screen like that!)

We decided to release a work-in-progress version of Wagic on Android, given the amount of requests we keep getting by PM/email.
Installation is (intentionally) not "noob friendly". If the steps involved are too much for you, please wait a bit more :)

Isn't Symbian dying? We are currently putting some effort on Maemo, Meego (both Nokia systems), and iOS in addition to Android, but if you're a Symbian dev (or if you know some) I'm sure we can discuss :)
