August 2020 - The City's Blessіng
Hi everyone,
Before I present the newest patch, let's all welcome our newest developer, FastEddie! His efforts and experience has been invaluable in tackling many issues. This is the first patch that his work will appear in. Welcome FastEddie!
As usual, AswanJaguar has been the driving force behind continued development. And lf course, we all depend on those of you who report bugs.
Additions:
With Mycosynth Lattice & Bludgeon Brawl, you can now play Magic the way Richard Garfield intended:
---
Two options for install:
Full install
For new users or those who want a clean start. First download the "Program" link, and then put the CardArtManalink folder from the "Cumulative Art Folder" link in your Program Folder. To download, you can either use "Download as ZIP" option near the upper right corner, or just right click on the folder in the navigation frame on the left and then download from the context menu. Art files should be in a CardArtManalink folder, which should be a subfolder of your base install folder. eg. if Magic.exe is in C:/Manalink, art files should be in C:/Manalink/CardArtManalink
Program:

OR

Cumulative Art Folder:

Upgrade from an existing install
is in the Mediafire link below; this is for those of you that already have the June 2020 install, just download and copy into your Program folder. This zip includes updates to the art.
Update from existing install: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vzz3fk6t3 ... 0.zip/file
Other incremental art update folders are in the link in my signature - these may be useful if you are upgrading from a version older than the May 2020 patch.

Thanks for the kind words and for helping me getting started. I think I slowly gain some traction. Kudos to Aswan Jaguar for keeping the lights on while getting rid of bugs.
Wally, keep 'em coming! I work on a mixture of old and new bugs, trying to whittle away some of the backlog, while documenting what I find.

Congratulations for the great job of a new release!! This is the result of many people that loves the game and join their mana to cast a really big spell!!!
Thanks a lot for thinking about the missing cards of old sets and implement them (Orcish Librarian, Jeweled Amulet, Gustha's Scepter,....). There are a wide range of magic players.. many of them look for the newest cards but for oldies like me having the classic sets complete is a must to remember the old times (even if the cards are really weak or unplayable).

Welcome FastEddie, and thank you for your helpful contributions!
I am excited to try this new set!! However, I found a problem. When I try to launch magic.exe I get the error message "Entry Point Not Found". Can someone help me, pretty please?
Feedback: I find it incredibly useful to have a clean install for each set because I can just download straight from MEGA and it takes less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Thank you so much!!

Hi, Dunpeal,
ArtIsPortrait is one of my functions. The simplest explanation to me would be that you have updated cardartlib.dll but not drawcardlib.dll. Please confirm your drawcardlib.dll is 448,325 bytes, created 8/13/2020; and your cardartlib.dll is 1,694,538 bytes, created 7/28/2020. Thank you

Hello drool66! I get help from the man himself (or woman, sorry! or non-binary!). Perfect tip, checked the files and it was the drawcardlib.dll that wasn't updated. Fixed and playing as we speak. Thank youuuuudrool66 wrote:Hi, Dunpeal,

Woohoo! Great news! Thank you people!
Downloading the "Cumulative Art Folder" as a zip file, and the speed is about 2Kb/s. Got 14% since last night. Well, I've got time.

I might be the last one to notice, but I see you gents sunsetted the planeswalker uniqueness rule in this update. Nice!

So happy another update has come out...any way to put Conspiracy in (the card rather than the game mechanic)...?
I was really excited to see the Nicol Bolas and Karn cards (with the Bludgeon Brawl effect on them) with the old-school font applied but I can't seem to replicate it. I originally thought it might have to do with using a deck with it or Mycosynth Lattice in it but that didn't seem to work, and even when I followed the steps on how to do install everything from scratch I still ended up with the same fonts I've been used to (though the rules engine picture changed...any plans to offer an option to pick between the new picture and the old?) - any ideas? (Oh, and I also installed each font type manually, just in case.)

Hi! Glad you're enjoying the patch. Conspiracy is on my own short wishlist. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it eventually.
The rules engine picture is in CardArtManalink/Rules Engine.jpg; you can replace it from the link in my signature - it's under "Optional Artwork." You can change the font to whatever you want in DuelArt/Duel.dat in the very first section, right at the top. The font you see is from my own setup, not the release.
