It is a little hard to make good AI decks but I've actually tweaked 3 decent ones. Do not import these decks!!! The deck files need to be put in the correct directory since they are dck files and not deck files. (I forgot to export them and just copied them from the HD.)

vampire.dck

4 Anowon, the Ruin Sage
4 Malakir Bloodwitch
4 Quag Vampires
4 Child of Night
26 Swamp
4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Bloodghast
4 Ruthless Cullblade
4 Guul Draz Vampire
2 Pulse Tracker

Vampire is insane if the computer gets a good draw.

1-red.dck

2 Callous Giant
1 Changeling Berserker
1 Dragonmaster Outcast
2 Siege-Gang Commander
1 Honden of Infinite Rage
2 Obsidian Fireheart
1 Demigod of Revenge
4 Bonesplitter
3 Tectonic Fiend
1 Battle-Mad Ronin
3 Kamahl, Pit Fighter
1 Mox Ruby
2 Ronin Houndmaster
2 Basalt Gargoyle
1 Flamecore Elemental
2 Mudbrawler Cohort
2 Goblin Sharpshooter
1 Goblin Offensive
1 Rakdos Pit Dragon
27 Mountain

1-red is a little random and has a variety of cards. The AI usually wins the game with either Dragonmaster Outcast, Rakdos Pit Dragon, Kamahl, Pit Fighter, or the insane 7/7 Tectonic Fiend.

U-permission-2.dck

4 Remove Soul
4 Serra Sphinx
4 Essence Scatter
2 Ivory Tower
4 Memnarch
4 Counterspell
4 Preemptive Strike
4 Wall of Spears
26 Island
4 False Summoning

U-permission-2 is just a classic blue control deck. It is very annoying to play against. You should be able to win most games but the games will just take longer because you have to play the game, "Can I get a creature on the battlefield?".

Thank you for the AI decks. Good job, I will try them out and will add them to the questdata files. =D>

I also have 5 new AI decks to post and to add to the questdata files. These 5 decks either require new cards and/or new code that is not currently available to people who do not have access to the recent revisions on our SVN. I will post these 5 decks after the next beta release … this way people will be able to test these new decks.

AI Devour Tokens RG
AI Devour Tokens GW
AI Tap Doesn't Untap Easy
AI Tap Doesn't Untap Medium
AI Tap Doesn't Untap Hard

And yes, the AI can now use Squall Drifter and similar creatures to tap our creatures before attacking. Combine that with a few new auras … and Oh my.

Chris, thanks for maintaining the quest decks. My favorite option is 10 length quests. :-)

This is cool, thanks, I will add the new entries :)

I've been messing around a lot with the quest code lately, the next version will have a whole new set of features. The code is not pretty, but I've finally got stuff to work which allows me to play "Quest" matches against the computer. I've set it up so that Quests can be added in a separate text file (just like cards.txt) using a format like this:

Code: Select all
/* id = Quest id
     * name = Name of the quest
     * desc = Description
     * difficulty = Easy, Medium, Hard... it basically just represents the computer's starting life (easy = 20 life, medium = 25 life, hard = 30 life)
     * repeatable = After a quest is completed, can they be played again?
     * numberWinsRequired = Amount of wins required before this quest will show up
     * cardReward = Just the text shown for what cards are rewarded (eg. "Five random blue rares" or "Ten random cards")
     * creditsReward = Amount of credits won after completing the quest
     */
Then, I still optionally hardcode a few things, like:

- Starting permanents of the computer.
- Starting permanents of the player.
- Card reward for completing the quest (this would match whatever text was specified previously for the cardReward entry).

The decks used for these quest matches can be specified through just adding the .dck file into res/quest/decks, using a naming convention of "quest{id}.dck". But I guess I'll keep the regular quest decks the same for now.

I am not sure if it will help your work or not. I have a copy of each of the current individual quest AI decks saved as individual .dck files. I will attach them as an archive in case they may be of use to you.

This could be handy... it would basically convert all quest decks into the new deck format (and wouldn't require old quest files to start over).

Yes! Thanks for posting these Chris, I've just converted at least the AI decks to just use these .dck files.
This should make things much easier for people to add new opponents / decks, without causing incompatibilities between questdata files.

Hard white weenie deck.
This was optimised for AI play and is pretty brain-dead.
As you can see every creature had first strike, also there's an archer with reach and knights with protection. To round this up you get baeslayer angel which should keep AI pretty high on lives

60 Total Cards

28 Creatures
-------------
4x Baneslayer Angel
4x Kazandu Blademaster
4x Knight of Meadowgrain
4x Longbow Archer
4x Sigiled Paladin
4x Silver Knight
4x White Knight

10 Spells
----------
3x Disenchant
4x Honor of the Pure
3x Swords to Plowshares

22 Land
--------
22x Plains
