There has been renewed interest in pursuing the XLHQ project. Maybe I called it UHQ before but XLHQ is what I'm calling it now. After all, X is a cool letter, and XLHQ has four letters while UHQ only has a measly three, so I ask you, which is better? Never mind, I know the answer. It's XLHQ.

So why are we going ahead at long last? Well, for one, we were asked to. There's nothing like showing interest to motivate fellows who work, after all, for free. And secondly, we have recent volunteers to help us upload them. Their links will be posted after this announcement so that you can give them a thumbs up if you want to. And you DO want to, don't you? (Look deeeep into my eyes.)

Are you shocked that all we needed to give the world something as cool as XLHQ's was a bit of time and bandwidth? Don't be. What should really surprise you is that there are those willing to download our stuff (your stuff actually, this project exists only to share), not say thank you, then re-upload it to their own site, after renaming the file, again without giving us credit. To those people I say <expletive deleted> YOU. And next time I might not censor myself. I might name the one guy I know of.

But, I'm not going to let one guy make me take our ball home. That would punish all of you, and we love you. Besides, we all know that if you see ANY pic beyond so-called medium quality that it came from right here.

And now, thanks to our new volunteers, we are able to take it to the next level, one I envisioned at least four years ago.

Look for more XLHQ's in the future. In fact, there is nothing stopping us from releasing XLHQ's alongside every other release we do in the future. We'll take a look at re-doing older sets too.

It should be noted that both RapidShare and BayFiles links expire after 30 days of inactivity. I'm not sure how effective these mirrors will be if everybody keeps clicking on the first MediaFire link. Given our problems in the past with MediaFire, it seems probable that it will be suspended at some point. I only hope that the mirrors are still active at that time.

To help ensure these links stay active I propose the following. If you are downloading on an oddly-numbered day of the month, use a RapiShare link. Even-numbered days use BayFiles. Use MediaFire as a last resort.

Aurelain originally posted artwork extracted from DotP 2012; 512x376 Resolution.

Each DotP game has expansion packs adding additional content. Two expansion packs were released for D10. With the help of RiiakShiNal on the Duels of the Planeswalkers thread, we've collected a bunch of additional game assets including token art, loading screens, and expansion pack art. I renamed these assets to their card names for convenience.

In my previous post I made the incorrect statement that Aurelain posted extracts from DotP 2010. His extracts were actually from DotP 2012.

Thanks to Riiak ShiNal we now have DotP 2010 artwork, loading screens, and tokens. If you show thanks please do so for Riiak also.

To summarize, we now have assets from the following:
D10 & expansions - Complete & Named
D12 - partial, Named Cards Only
D13 & expansion - partial, Unnamed Cards Only

I'll release the D12 extras and D13 complete once we find contributors of these assets.

PLEASE let me host those damn files so that there is no need to maintain anything, click odd download providers links, torrents and whatnot. I will provide a decent host to all those releases you're doing.

I will just need a bit of help organizing things so that it is comprehensive and intuitive to use.

It would be incredibly easy to just mirror the Magic Album Torrent content on your server, with a simple directory-listing navigation. Like www.your-site.com/ccghq-mirror/core-set ... ha/ENG.zip.

I can do that to start with. I would also like to have individual file download but maybe that is too big of a strech (plus it could be linked from other websites and impair the bandwith).

For single files you could set up an rsync server if you have a linux server you can manage. This offers differential updates, however people would need to be educated how to use any of the freely available rsync clients.

Yes I like the rsync idea so that other mirrors could just diff from mine.

Ark was already considering making an rsync server viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5950&start=30#p94382 , so maybe you could convince him to go with this idea and have consistent directory structure.
You could then zip the files and provide them for the lazy, uneducated folks via http.

The problem with rsync is you lose all the advantage of a P2P system...
Also, I keep all the JPGs unzipped, and have long since deleted the original zip downloads.
