Re: [confirmed]Pyromancer Ascension
by Tyranix95 » 02 Nov 2012, 18:59
This is how I see Pyromancer Ascension:
Part I: Quest Counters.
When Can A Player Can Put A Quest Counter On Pyromancer Asension?
PA states that: "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell that has the same name as a card in your graveyard, [then] you may put a quest counter on Pyromancer Ascension." (Works.)
Part II: Copying (aka "Forking") A Card.
A. When Can A Player Copy ("Fork") A Spell?
PA states that: "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell while Pyromancer Ascension has two or more quest counters on it, [then] you may copy that spell." (Partially Works.)
B. Can A PA Forked Spell Select A New Target?
Yes, PA states that: "You may choose new targets for the copy." (Works.)
C. Does A PA, With Two Counters On It, Also Require A Graveyard Copy Of The Instant or Sorcery Spell Being Played In Order To Fork The Spell That I Am Casting?
No, PA does not require a graveyard copy of the card bing cast for making a copy ("Fork") of the card that you are casting from your hand. Thus, if you are playing a Demonic Tutor or a Time Walk from your hand, and there is no copy of the card in your graveyard, then a PA, with two quest couters on it, will allow you to copy the card as it is being played from your hand.
D. If PA copies ("Forks") a card, is the coppied card Red?
Idk, PA does not state that the copied card is Red, and PA does not state that the copied card is the same color as the card cast; however, since PA is a Red card causing a copy (Fork) effect, and since Fork makes Red coppies of cards, I would say that PA ought to make Red coppies of cards too--just like Fork.

[unfixable]Underworld Dreams
by Tyranix95 » 05 Nov 2012, 19:33
0. Head Note:
1. Underworld Dreams + Wheel of Fortune + Fork = 14 pts of damage. (Works.)
2. Underworld Dreams + Timetwister + Fork = 14 pts of damage. (Works.)
3. Underworld Dreams + either Wheel of Fortune or Timetwister + One Pyromancer Ascension Copy Of That Card (aka "Fork") = 7 < x > 14 pts of damage. (Partially Works.)
4. UD + either WoF or Tt + Two PA Coppies ("Forks") = 7 < x > 21 pts of damage. (Partially Works.)
5. etc.
I. Describe the Bug:
After PA copies ("Fks") a draw card as it is being cast (like WoF or Tt); then, when the PA coppied ("Fkd") card resolves, UD does not assign 1 point of damage for every card the PA Forked card makes the oppenet draw; however, UD does assign 1 point of damage for every card the original draw card (WoF/Tt) makes the oppenet draw.
II. Which card behaved improperly?
Underworld Dreams.
III. Which update are you using: Date, name? And which game are you playing: Duel, Gauntlet, or Sealed Deck?
Manalink 3.0 : 09162012_m13_v3 : Duel.
IV. What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction?
Whenever an opponent draws a card, Underworld Dreams deals 1 damage to him or her. (Paritally Works.)
V. Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug?
I don't know.
VI. Save Game(s).

Re: Underworld Dreams
by Aswan jaguar » 06 Nov 2012, 14:50
If Pyromancer Ascension is used in this combo with Wheel of Fortune and Underworld Dreams only 1 damage for all 7 cards drawn will be assigned for the first forked by Pyromancer Ascension. If more Pyromancer Ascension are in the combo the others won't deal not even 1 damage for all 7 cards drawn.
Gargaroz another strange behaviour with this combo that might be helpful is that for every forked Wheel of Fortune the caster won't discard his whole hand but will have +1 card for each forked effect.

[unsolved 1-fixed 2 Gargaroz]Hellkite Charger-untap ability?
by Tyranix95 » 10 Nov 2012, 21:14
0. Head Note:
Hellkite Charger ought to play like Time Walk. However, instead of making an exrta turn, HC ought to make an extra combat phase.
I. Describe the Bug:
Whenever Hellkite Charger attacks, player can not pay [5C][R][R] to untap all attacking creatures and initiate an additional (extra) combat phase after this combat phase.
II. Which card behaved improperly?
Hellkite Charger.
III. Which update are you using: Date, name? And which game are you playing: Duel, Gauntlet, or Sealed Deck?
Manalink 3.0 : 09162012_m13_v3 : Duel.
IV. What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction?
Whenever Hellkite Charger attacks, you may pay [5C][R][R]. (Doesn't work.) If you do, untap all attacking creatures and after this phase, there is an additional combat phase. (Doesn't work.)
V. Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug?
I do not know; however, I get the feeling that the lack of ability may be rules engine related. Aside from that, HC plays fine.

I think this ability and any others ability that completely change the gameplay tempo cannot be done in current ML :/

Yup, in the past we believe this could be possible, but it generates some strange effects like damage not resolving, so this kind of ability is disabled right now.

Gargaroz what do you think if you fix only the part to pay mana to untap the attacking creatures at least?
The other similar cards at least untap the creatures:
Godo,Bandit Warlord , Relentless Assault , Savage Beating

Just tested again Odric, Master Tactician and surprisingly his ability is working on AI's creature, only morph land that activate after Odric, Master Tactician ability activation can block but I guess it's not doable in current ML

I see. The code is right so probably this ability could not be coded, too bad

So are you going to flag it as uncoded or will it stay as a 1/1 green creature with no ability?

[unsolvable]Carnophage + Oath of Druids
by mbodrov » 15 Nov 2012, 08:53
Describe the Bug:
When you oath up a Carnophage, the dialog pops up asking you to pay 1 life or tap.
Which card did behave improperly ?
Carnophage
Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
Old & New Ravnica
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
The beginning of your upkeep has already passed, so the ability should not trigger.

Mmh, these kinds of timing bugs are hard to hell to solve under Manalink, I fear this one will remain.
