Should I run this in Windows Compatibility Mode??
by ForTheForge » 02 Mar 2013, 03:18
I've toyed around with running this in various windows compatibility modes on my laptop. For some reason it crashes more on my laptop then my desktop. My desktop is more modern and has Windows 7. My laptop has Vista. Does forge play nice with all versions of Windows equally? Should I stop running it in compatibility mode? Maybe uncheck "run as administrator?" I'm sure these are insanely dumb questions to computer literate people but I'm just trying to get Forge running smoother on my older laptop. Thanks in advance for any help.
PS I'm running the daily snapshot version that was posted yesterday.

Compatibility mode shouldn't be necessary. Depending on your laptop's specs, it could be that it doesn't have enough RAM to run Forge without slowdowns.

I had a lot of issues with ram at 2 gigs. 4 gigs has been much better.
