Where else would the UI need to be modified to work on tablets? Does scrolling always work ok? r-clicking in the deck editor tables? Are buttons and other widgets sized ok?noxxle wrote:Forge runs great on my Thinkpad Tablet 2 (windows 8 tablet, x86 clover trail proc). None of the above needs to be done. All that is necessary is an option to require a double click to play cards. Single click views/previews. This is how Magarena works.

I, for one, would take time to write descriptions for my own custom decks. Any time I get new cards, I add them to my existing decks, and as I go through them each rapidly I sometimes have troubles remembering what each deck's strategy is or get one confused with another.Max mtg wrote:Why exactly handwritten 'deck notes'? Who is going to fill them?
You may calculate deck's dominating colors and show them next to deck, then mention some key cards of the deck (well, that must be the ones included 4 times) - There is also draft ratings system which may be of help to choose key cards of a deck.
And even though it sounds nice, I don't think I'd trust AI to figure out my playing strategy for most decks.

I'm a big fan of World of warcraft and MTG.In my opinion, one of the most addictive features of World of warcraft is achievement system. Could we have something like this in Forge along with new titles and prize

That might be doable, but a few questions would need to be answeredsidaism wrote:I'm a big fan of World of warcraft and MTG.In my opinion, one of the most addictive features of World of warcraft is achievement system. Could we have something like this in Forge along with new titles and prize :D
- How would it fit into the UI
- what are the achievements?
- what are the rewards?

1.About UI I think we can add “achievement” tab at Quest category. It will contain a list of which achievement your character can obtain and some interesting statistics i.e.longest win/lose spree, highest dealing/dealt damage per turn, largest storm count…Achievement that you obtained will be highlighted with achieved date.
2.There are a lot of achievements such as win in harsh condition(zero library/hand, 1 life point left, having 9 poison counters…), alternative wins, collecting 100% cards from a set, cast some fatty… It would be nice if we open a topic for people to share their ideas about achievements
3. Reward may depend on how hard to get this achievement i.e duplicate card from set which you have 100% collected , some new titles ( I have been” boyfriend of Serra” for quite sometime and really want to change this title
) Easier achievements will only give you achievement point which particularly useless

I would love to see EDH rules implementation.
Think about it...
Also, could it be possible to put 2 humans face to face? Like as if it was a REAL game of Magic (without the tremendous expenses that tie into it)...

Lots of things need to happen before Network Play can happen. Don't expect that anytime soon (if it happens at all).

No, I didn't mean network play.
I meant as if: I control one side of the board, against another player, all on the same software. No net involved.
I've tried things like Cockatrice, but there are no rules enforcement (therefore, no mana tapping, etc).

So hot seat play? I'm not sure how that would work on a single machine. How would you prevent each other from seeing what cards you had in the other players hand? And responding timely to effects?ChaossssMark wrote:No, I didn't mean network play.

One "tab" for the field, and one for the hand?
As for the effects, ask for permission. If one player does have a counterspell, switch seats and respond?

Hi, guys, I have a question don't know if it's ok to post here: how do i make my own precons for quest mode? it seems that only making the deck file and put it in the precon folder is not enough?

Hi,
I've started a few quests with the custom set feature and have some suggestions:
- it is a really cool way to get some synergy/combo in your deck. In my last quest i started with INN, M13 & CHK, mostly for Chandra, the Firebrand, Snapcaster Mage & Gifts Ungiven. Quickly supplemented by Delver of Secrets, Sensei's Divining Top, Through the Breach and Unburial Rites
- After 10-20 matches I have a nice deck and want to move on. Maybe I want some good fatties for reanimation or a Cruel Ultimatum to go with my chandra or miracle cards to go with top.
- and then there are 3 things that stop this (in my experience):
1: I can only unlock a set after 20 matches won
2: I can only onlock adjacent sets
3: It costs 7500 credits. Which I don't have. Because i don't receive the random bonuses that i receive with vintage packs (Obsianus Golem worth 1000 credits anyone?
Or I should include an old set in my custom build to receive these bonuses, but that doesn't feel right.
My suggestions:
1: unlock possibility at 10,20,30,40,50.etc. wins
2: unlock any set
3: 2500 credits

As far as number 3 goes, there is a way to avoid the credit crunch. The quest.preferences file can be modified outside the game. Your starting credits can go up to 999,999,999. That would take effect the next time you start a new quest.

i could do indeed that, and i tinker a lot with these preferences, (i especially like 99 starting rares

But it is more a matter of game balance. With too much credit the game is nog longer a challenge. With 7500 credits I can also buy 3 fat packs or 6 prebuilt decks...In my quests 2500 credits for unlocking a set is a balanced price
