Would it be possible for someone to make a video tutorial showing how to do this.
I am a noob when it comes to computers but love magic and would really like to make a custom sealed deck.
I am confused on where I find my "save file" how to open my "profile" in the hex editor, and where to find the XML files
I only see 2 WAD files, DATA_DECKS and DATA_CORE
If someone could help a noob I would appreciate it :)
The .profile is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\"random number"\213850\remote" In the hex editor you should go to open then find the arandomnumber.profile file in the path above and open it.

You need gibbed tools off of this website to unpack the DATA_DECKS_14.WAD (I can't find the topic where I downloaded mine, but try this one: viewtopic.php?f=99&t=10463 the binaries is the one you should download.) In order to unpack the wad you drag it over the Gibbed.Duels.Unpack.exe and then it unpacks. Once it unpacks you'll find the new unpacked data decks folder in your dotp 2014 folder. Just open it up and navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Magic 2014\DATA_DECKS_D14_unpacked\DATA_DECKS_D14\DATA_ALL_PLATFORMS\DECKS" and open the D14_SEALED_POOL.XML with a program like notepad++

I finished editing my profile in the hex editor and saved it, but I'm having some trouble getting the hash generator to work. I'm using Win 8, disabled UAC by editing the registry and I still get an error when I try to do it. Here's what I typed in an Administrative Command Prompt: C:\Users\Steve>C:\D13Hash\D13Hash.exe xxxxxxxx.profile hash.file
* Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 profile hash generator *
Opening file xxxxxxxx.profile...
ERROR: File opening failed!

I even tried using my unmodified dotp2013 profile and the same thing happened. I also tried to type in a gibberish profile number and the same thing happened. So apparently I don't have the profile in the right place or am not typing in the right things in the command prompt to direct it to the file.

I have the D13Hash folder in my main C directory and inside it is just the D13Hash.exe, and D13Hash.cpp. Are you supposed to put the .profile in the D13Hash Folder? I tried that, but it doesn't seem to do anything. At this point I am really lost. So any advice would be fantastic. lol

*I edited the profile number with "x"es in this post because I'm not sure if that's sensitive information or not.

Ok so if I wanted to put 4 hpynotic specters in either deck, what do I need to do?
Well if you look in the D14_SEALED_POOL.XML you will see that Hypnotic Specter's ID is "122", but you have to convert that into hexadecimal. Now I'm just a regular dude, I'm not that smart, but I used this webpage to convert decimal to hexadecimal http://www.mathsisfun.com/binary-decima ... erter.html and you will see that if you put in "122" in decimal it will be 7A in Hexadecimal.

Then I think you overwrite the value on line 000011A0 where the first value is 3C with 7A.

As you see on line 000011A0 it goes 3C 01 3C 01 83 01 ect... well you overwrite the 3C and then skip the 01 and then overwrite the next 3C then skip the 01 then overwrite the 83 ect. Just make sure that you don't edit the second 01 or 02 in the pairs.

hash.png

I got the hash thing to work, maybe this SS will help you
it wouldn't let me edit the file in "user" directory so I brought it to the main c: directory

Well I'm glad it worked for you so far, I don't know how right I am about the hex editing, but I'm pretty sure that's how it's done for the most part.

I'll take a look at your prompt pic and see if I can fix my problem.

Edit: How did you get your command prompt to be C:\> unlike mine which is C:\Users\myusername> Ya know what I mean? Like by default when I open the command prompt it automatically types C:\Users\myusername> and I can't delete it. Because I think that might be what the problem is.

UPDATE! dude it worked. Thanks so much for the help. I'm glad I took the time to help you out or I probably wouldn't of found out what I did wrong and gave up.

Where does the hash.file go when it's done? I can't find it. It did work though I'm pretty sure it did.

I think I found it. Main C directory? I'm going to test it.

UPDATE! it worked! I'm beyond happy right now. Thanks for all your help. Hope you dominate people with your new deck. lol

Since the only reason that you need to unpack DATA_DECKS_D14.WAD for editing your sealed deck is to get the deckOrderId #'s, I'll just leave the list right here to hopefully save people some time.

Then just convert the number from deckOrderId="###" to hexadecimal using a converter such as http://www.statman.info/conversions/hexadecimal.html. For example, Elixir of Immortality's deckOrderId is 108, which results in 6c. So, looking at the example that cookiezeater showed us, you then change the two characters before the "01" or "02" (which are your current cards) in your hex editor to the new cards that you want. Save when done. Generate new hash as previously explained. Put back in your profile folder where found. Run game with new sealed deck.

Personally, if I play against a player that has obviously hacked their deck and is playing in random public matches then I'd report them...

Cheating yourself a superior deck because you suck at sealed deck construction and can't handle playing a non-perfect deck is lame.

I am a big fan of using the ideas in this forum to allow for private sealed tournaments though. Combine it with custom sealed pools and it'd be fantastic.

This hex stuff is over my head... I can grasp how the numbers "108" = "6C" and that replacing some of the values should change the cards... I just don't really follow how I'm supposed to know which line in the hex editor represents what in-game, and which specific boxes to edit. I'm a visual learner and reading stuff -- especially stuff already foggy to me -- just doesn't cut it.

Possible for somebody to make a quick screen recorded video or more simplified step-by-step list? Perhaps everything in this thread is simplified for you guys but I've never done anything like this before... I'm just a regular user and I can't really tell which lines are what I should be aiming for.

if you look at the OP screenshot of what you should edit you will see a bunch of 0's before the cards come up, you could convert those existing HEX into DEC and look them up they would match the cards you have in your sealed deck. I wrote down all the hex of my existing rares in my deck and switched them out for the rares i wanted.
