The .command file is not meant for use with a PC. It's designed for Macs with OSX.

There's a link to it at the bottom of the first post in this topic.

Ah. Well the error I am getting when trying to run the forge app is:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Forge 1.4.0 runs no problem when I try to run it. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance!

I downloaded and installed forge 1.4.3 on my windows 7 pc, loaded the content downloader, downloaded the full art set for every card (about 21,000 files), then restarted forge. I can see card art for everything except M14. My M14 art folder is empty. I run the content downloader again, this time it finds 484 files. It downloads them. I restart. The M14 card art folder is STILL empty and no M14 art is visible. What files did it download? Where is the M14 art?

Edit: I read through the readme.txt file.. I guess the M14 art hasn't been released yet? Still, what's with the 484 new files the content downloader finds and downloads every time I run it?

It didn't download any files. M14 art isn't ready yet, we depend on a different group to provide that, so you just have to be patient while you wait for it to be ready.

The client doesn't know what art is available on the server, it just knows what art it doesn't have and just tries to grab it if it's available.

Ah, I see. Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on this forum, I assume there will be an announcement when the art is released.

Thanks to all the devs for their awesome work on Forge!!

With "Intet, the Dreamer": We can't play the cards exiled with him.

With "Nightveil Specter": We can click "OK" to play the cards, ok, everything alright. But when we cancel (when it's asking to pay the mana cost), the card disappear! It's not there on "Flashback cards" anymore. : |

Thank you for you glorious work. : )

I downloaded that file, but I cannot unzip it to open it. I get the following message: Unable to read header in "C:\Users\tina.COLUMBIA\Desktop\forge-1.4.3.tar.tar".

What program are you using to unzip it? There might be some archive extraction tools that have a problem with the way Forge is archived. I would recommend downloading WinRAR, which should be a free download, as I've never had a problem using it to extract Forge.

Hate to self-bump but I feel like I'm just missing something silly here. Why won't Forge run for me? Any ideas?

You didn't really provide any helpful information. What operating system do you have? What version of Java? I'm not trying to be crass, but if you want someone to help you need to provide more information then "It used to work, and now it doesn't, here's a generic error message"

Have you tried launching the file named "forge.exe" if your computer is using the Windows OS?

Are you still using Java 6 or have you updated to Java 7?

I thought I established in my previous post that I have a PC (running Windows 7). I have run FORGE.EXE and those are the specific (not generic) error messages I get. I updated JAVA to 7 prior to trying to run the newest version of FORGE. Thanks!

I am using Mac OS X and as such I may not be able to offer much by way of help.

I googled "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine Windows 7" and saw a long list of possible links that may or may not help. You might want to take a look at this one though:
