elves of wirewood

60 Total Cards
40 Creatures
-------------
4x Essence Warden
4x Immaculate Magistrate
4x Imperious Perfect
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Norwood Archers
4x Sylvan Messenger
4x Timberwatch Elf
4x Wellwisher
4x Winnower Patrol
4x Wolf-Skull Shaman
0 Spells
----------
20 Land
--------
14x Forest
2x Treetop Village
4x Wirewood Lodge
Simplicity rules. No artifact/enchantment removal, no way of getting cards back from the graveyard.
Just get the Wolf-Skull Shaman, a Wellwisher and Immaculate Magistrate or Timberwatch Elf out there, add a Wirewood Lodge and have fun.
Naturalize and Eternal Witness would go into the sideboard and Hurricane would be sweet too but that card is not included yet.
Elvish herder was in an earlier version of this deck but against the AI, trample is more of a nice bonus than a needed way to win. And with 4 Sylvan Messenger and 2 Treetop Village, you should have enough trample power anyway.
What I would really like is Wren's Run Packmaster, to give my wolf tokens some extra bite.
Hurricane would make a nice alternative finisher, but then I would also ask for the big mana makers like Priest of Titania and Gaea's Cradle. Mmm... and give me an Argothian Elder just for the heck of it. (to untap the Wirewood and Cradle)
Oh, the pain you could bring then...

I wanted this deck to focus on winning by pumping up your elves, not by getting just 10 elves in play.GandoTheBard wrote:Where is Klaas, Elf Friend?
Besides, Rares made that card for me because elves are my favorite magic critters, it is not an official card and there are some purists here who will not play the card because of that.
But I could make another Friend deck. Rhys the Redeemed should make that even easier.

Although, in all honesty, I think Klaas, Elf Friend should require 20 elves in play instead of just 10 as that is too easy.

Time to update this deck as well.
60 Total Cards
40 Creatures
-------------
4x Essence Warden
3x Eternal Witness
2x Fyndhorn Elves
3x Immaculate Magistrate
4x Imperious Perfect
2x Llanowar Elves
4x Nullmage Shepherd
4x Sylvan Messenger
4x Thornweald Archer
3x Timberwatch Elf
4x Wellwisher
3x Wolf-Skull Shaman
4 Spells
----------
4x Mox Emerald
16 Land
--------
8x Forest
4x Treetop Village
4x Wirewood Lodge
Behold V2 of the wirewood elves.
Just creatures, no more Naturalize needed thanks to Nullmage Shepherd.
Norwood Elves were replaced with the cheaper Thornweald Archer with the added fun of deathtouch!
The Wirewood Lodge still provides lots of fun, either to untap a Wellwisher or Imperious Perfect or it allows you a double boost from Immaculate Magistrate to (preferably) your Sylvan Messenger.
Compy doesn't do well with this deck because it will always waste all mana it can on turning the Treetop Village cards it has into creatures. Leaving no mana to cast elves.
